First Cuts: Butler Among 6 Released (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=28520)
Cuts that were made tonight....artmonkforhallofamein07 08-27-2007, 09:25 PM First Cuts: Butler Among 6 Released (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=28520) BleedBurgundy 08-27-2007, 09:31 PM Pinkston's Gone! skinsfan_nn 08-27-2007, 10:14 PM No suprise on these 6. Jerametrius Butler, CB Jamaal Green, DE Kevin Jones, LB Jerel Myers, WR Todd Pinkston, WR Bryant Shaw, DEWho's next...? SmootSmack 08-27-2007, 10:44 PM Amazing that the Redskins spent three years trying to draft sign Butler only to cut him before he even took one regular season snap. And now does this mean Corey Bradford is going to be the #5 WR, or will it be McAddley who's currently listed 5th on the depth chart? If it's neither, then I think the Redskins should seriously consider signing Doug Gabriel (who was just waived by the Raiders). He's big, athletic, young. I think he could make a nice addition to the team. ArtMonkDrillz 08-27-2007, 10:44 PM Man, that was a wild ride! I'm sure glad we brought in Pinkston! On a bit more serious note, glad to see my fellow Salisbury Seagull made it through another cut. SmootSmack 08-27-2007, 10:47 PM I hear Pinkston really struggled to learn the offense here. They threw him a copy the playbook...and he ran away from it Beemnseven 08-27-2007, 11:08 PM Biggest name so far is Butler. I had a feeling about him getting the axe. I don't think I heard his name called once through any of the exhibition games. Come to think of it, there hasn't been much from Macklin either. What kind of contract did they give Butler? It was well above the veteran minimum if I recall. Daseal 08-27-2007, 11:10 PM Butler is a bit suprising to me, I thought he could play well for us. Maybe he just couldn't get the defense, or they knew he wouldn't make the final roster and they're giving him a chance to get signed elsewhere. 724Skinsfan 08-27-2007, 11:15 PM Didn't Butler have several injury problems at St. Louis? That may have weighed heavily on the coaches minds. JWsleep 08-27-2007, 11:33 PM I hear Pinkston really struggled to learn the offense here. They threw him a copy the playbook...and he ran away from it Sean Taylor was walking by as they threw the book--Pinkston was worried he'd be hit. Good riddance. Surprised about Butler as well, but it was probably injuries. Hopefully, one of the younger CBs stepped up and took the spot. |
