Roster Cutdown to 75RMSkins 08-27-2007, 05:00 PM I say get rid of Boschetti,Brunell, James Thrash Why in the world would we cut Thrash? GusFrerotte 08-27-2007, 07:08 PM Why in the world would we cut Thrash? They might do it since he is not really valuable as a WR anymore. They could get a rookie to take his place on SP and no harm will really be done. Thrash has been here forever man, except his brief stint in Philly and he has really not done much. Hell, I rather have Rod Garder back on the team more than Thrash. RMSkins 08-27-2007, 07:25 PM They might do it since he is not really valuable as a WR anymore. Hell, I rather have Rod Garder back on the team more than Thrash. Thrash is the most clutch receiver on this team next to Moss, he provides great veteren leadership, good depth at WR, and not to mention great special teams play. Thrash is still valuable to this team, he is not going anywhere. Beemnseven 08-27-2007, 07:51 PM Two big names that I haven't heard all preseason -- at least in terms of them making plays -- are David Macklin and Jeremetrius Butler. Hasn't Eubanks been getting more of the spotlight than either of these two guys? mooby 08-27-2007, 08:58 PM First Cuts: Butler Among 6 Released (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=28520) First round of cuts are in, and the six players released are: Jerametrius Butler, CB Jamaal Green, DE Kevin Jones, LB Jerel Myers, WR Todd Pinkston, WR Bryant Shaw, DE no shockers there. We're down to 79 players, but because 4 players have roster exemptions due to NFLE, technically we meet the 75 player limit. redskins21x 08-27-2007, 09:24 PM They should cut James TRASH AND MARK BRUNELL,Todd Wade,Sartz mooby 08-27-2007, 10:48 PM They should cut James TRASH AND MARK BRUNELL,Todd Wade,Sartz Thrash is not only a great special teams player, he's also a leader in the locker room and a decent wide receiver. Plus he's a model citizen on and off the field, as evidenced by the fact that he's on the commissioner's player advisory council. Brunell won't be cut because he has value. He brings experience to the table, and he's been key in helping JC's development. Clearly age has caught up with him but he's been here just as long as anybody and knows the system just as well. Plus he carries a large cap hit, so we aren't gonna see him cut. You'll see him traded to another team before you see him cut. Todd Wade is now the backup at tackle where he rightfully belongs. He's not a guard in this league and never will be. But at least if Jansen goes down or doesn't play well, we can turn to Wade. He did a great job filling in for Jansen against the Saints last year. Dallas Sartz is probably the only guy on this list that has a chance of getting cut. You must not have been watching the game Saturday night because he was the one that returned the interception for a touchdown. He might have a future in this league, but he's only a rookie so don't crucify him just yet. SmootSmack 08-27-2007, 10:50 PM I'm going to lock this thread down because a.) we now have a thread about the first official cuts and b.) I don't want to see Redskins21x say we should cut Thrash yet again without providing any reason for it |
