724Skinsfan 08-26-2007, 08:30 AM Hell yeah! I didn't really know what to think of him when we drafted him, but man am I happy!
And now, I am too!
The Defense looked great. That fluke INT return for a TD was something that usually happens against us. Nice to see how it feels when it's in our favor for a change.The Offense doesn't look as lost as they did last year in pre-season but they do look out of sync. I hope they can pull it together.
Beemnseven 08-26-2007, 08:33 AM Offense: Running game was inept, Collins had a nice 40yd pass to Moss to start the game, I believe Randle El had 4 recs, and Lloyd had 1 rec. Sellers fumbled on a swing pass, other than that there wasn't to much going on, I believe we ended up with 115 total yards.
Yeah, that about sums it up. They put a graphic up of the running game totals for the preseason so far: Against Tennessee, 43 yards rushing, against Pittsburgh, 77 yards. Last night, it was practically zilch.
Looks like it's going to take awhile for the O-line to get cohesion in the running game. Right now, they've got nothing.
724Skinsfan 08-26-2007, 08:38 AM Missing a ProBowl lineman and the starting RB for the entire preseason probably hasn't helped any.
Beemnseven 08-26-2007, 08:48 AM Yes, further adding to the extra time it will take for cohesion once Samuels comes back.
But you're right, with Samuels and Portis, and four full quarters to get things going, the running game will get on track. I wouldn't expect it to be in full swing against Miami though.
And good morning, 724skinsfan.

Another reason to like the Kendall trade. His experience should minimize the time it takes for the line to come together once everyone is on the field practising together.
Good morning. My family came into town this weekend. I'm waiting for breakfast. I usually eat at 6:00 and it's nearly 8:00...{grumble}

Defense: The D looked good for a third straight preseason game, Landry had a few nice plays, along with Carter, Fletcher, Blades, Rogers. Sean Taylor missed another big hit on Steve McNair, but I believe he ended up with 2 tcks. Trucks, and Prioleau nailed Boller causing the ball to fly up in the air, and Sartz made the Int, and returned it for a TD. Only negative things I could pick out were the Defense seemed to be overpursuing a lot, and we had a bit of trouble covering the intermediate routes, but thats about it.
Great assessment. Only thing to add was Rocky McIntosh had the most solo tackles (3). Landry, Rogers and Taylor had (2) each. They all had a bunch of assists. The D looked great, special teams looked even better. In fact, Landry had a tackle on a kick-off return.
mlmpetert 08-26-2007, 11:56 AM Im in Richmond and they played Cat In the Hat while the game was orginally delayed, WTF?
That kick-off tackle was pretty bad ass. I dont really see the running game coming togather by Miami either. I thought the first team offense had a few to many penalties too. I feel bad Palmer still hasnt got a game yet, I think he can only be on the practice team now.

Cat in the Hat? That sucks. LOL. At least here in the DC/MD area they played 75 years history of Redskins on Comcast.
GusFrerotte 08-26-2007, 06:48 PM Yeah we had a HS football game called for lightning way back in 1986. It was very bad, definitely not safe for anyone in the stands or on a nice flat field. They should have just postponed the game for today. Total waste of a game. Not much happened. Didn't help the coaches any in figuring out who to cut.
mlmpetert 08-27-2007, 01:10 PM I just found this on nfl.com. It looks like they'll have this for every game. Pretty nice review of the game and stats to go with. Even list every play of the game.
