Warpath 08-24-2007, 10:05 AM I heard he may end up the number 2 receiver this season behind Colston. Thats pretty crazy considering all the things he didn;t do when he was here. I guess he was hurt though. Monkeydad 08-24-2007, 10:16 AM Henderson should be their #2. SouperMeister 08-24-2007, 10:32 AM Patten never really had a chance here due to nagging injuries. I blame much of the lack of a viable #2 receiver here to Brunell's "tunnel vision" for Moss and Cooley. If those two were covered, more often than not, Brunell threw the ball away. I hope Patten does well for NO - I don't recall him ever complaining over the lack of balls coming his way. Cowell 08-24-2007, 11:46 AM When you play for the Patriots I think you learn not to complain too much. Anyway Patten was hurt to much to complain. I hope he does good for NO. Lets see if that translates into the regular season.... dmek25 08-24-2007, 05:20 PM patten is a good NFL receiver. between injuries, and Brunell trying to force everything to Moss, is the reasons he didn't strive here jdlea 08-24-2007, 05:43 PM patten is a good NFL receiver. between injuries, and Brunell trying to force everything to Moss, is the reasons he didn't strive here Exactly. I don't think that there is any way to blame David Patten for being "over the hill." More like Brunell is over the hill. SmootSmack 08-24-2007, 05:44 PM Patten's first 8 games here in 2005 before he got hurt, he actually got a decent amount of passes thrown his way. Fewer than Moss, but it should be that way since Moss is the top receiver. But Patten simply didn't catch a lot of the passes that Moss would have. And, if I remember correctly, there were actually a couple of defensive PIs on plays he was involved in. |
