In fairness, they did also say that they (Golic at least) have seen Jason Campbell every year since his college years and he has matured and improved each year. And they like what they see out of him, but that they don't know that he has enough experience yet to lead this team to a lot of wins. They praised the running game. They had strong positive words about Gibbs, saying he had nothing to prove to anyone, that he'd proven more than enough the first time around. They love the Landry pick.

Overall though, they believe with a young QB, a suspect line, and no true cohesion from year to year the Skins will struggle.

I think 8-8 would be a great season for the skins. They have a rookie QB (who has a sore knee now) and an O that cant score points. The D has played good but its preseason so you cant make too much out of that. I think the other predictions are on the low side.

lets be honest here, what did you expect them to say after last year....

i personally have my own doubts about this year for us and im not hyping anything up. i do think that mike and mike are a bunch of jackasses who talk out of thier ass, but i dont know of any sportswriters that have us predicted to go to the playoffs either.

Golic is just a Philly homer! He doesn't want to give any other team in the division credit except for the Eagles. He's too scared that he wouldn't be able to stuff his fat face safely in Philly with a cheesesteak if he said anything positive about the Skins.

I heard this segment and the whole time Golic was talking, I kept saying "you must not have seen our D!" He said he's looking forward to seeing Landry and Taylor kill people, but didn't even mention all of the injuries our D had last year when bashing them and never even said the name London Fletcher.

He's not paying attention. I don't mind, we'll surprise a lot of people this year.

they both need a couple of enemas, and to stick with calling arena bowl games since that is about the level of football they are on!WTF did mike golic ever do as a player?he needs to stick to nutrisystem.like i said before one's a blimp, the other a wimp.i'd put the skins at 10-6 because of gibbs.

I don't care what Mike & Mike, Simon and Simon or Arm and Hammer will say about the Redskins. If we're to be the underdogs, so what?

IMO I like being an underdog. Second Mike & Mike don't know what they are talking about, they should watch a game tape of us THIS year.

I'm not as confident as the rest when it comes to our defense.
The truth is we stopped a backup QB with the Titans and we slowed Pittsburgh...it seems we wore down and gave up long drives over a period of time. Yes, no touchdowns, but long drives eventually wear defenses down.
I dont see the Ravens as a particularly strong offensive team to measure against either...I am concerned.

I am Very concerned about our offensive line.
To expect strong showings from Betts and Portis this year is a stretch...especially before the bye...the OL has not played well together...period.

I think Campbell will be good but I am still waiting for good performances by ARE or Lloyd.

The only significant differences in this years team and last is this:
Campbell starting.
A missing LG (at least until they jell)
A much better MLB

Thats probably good enough for an additional 3 wins, tops.
I would be shocked if the skins went 9-7

Last year, I thought the team would go 6-10 at this time..I was wrong...but, take a good look at first team performance....struggling to score and giving up long drives against a decent offense....hmm.

I sure hope I am wrong

I think all of the folks who are expressing skepticism based on last year haven't looked very hard at last year's W-L record -- by this I mean that a very large number of losses were by a handful of points. In other words, even with a terrible D last year (and it was), we still managed to make games close even when we lost. A few plays in the other direction (e.g., a few turnovers going our way), and last year's record would have potentially been quite different.

Bottom line: last year was last year, and even last year could be the springboard for something better.
