SFREDSKIN 08-23-2007, 06:41 PM These guys don't know squat, all these so called experts are idiots. Anybody betting against Gibbs coached teams is an idiot. Look at the power Gibbs has as a motivator, a few weeks ago he intervened on a feud by his drivers and what happens? Tony Stewart goes to win the next 3 out of 4 races, mark my words Joe Gibbs will regain the respect as the best coach after this year. The final piece to the puzzle was added when they traded for Kendall today. GO SKINS!!!
That Guy 08-23-2007, 06:57 PM our oline and #2 WR are questionable right now, QB hasn't lit it up yet, and the DL is still fairly weak.
we have a chance to do alright, but we're not coming into this season like SD indy or NE.
Beemnseven 08-23-2007, 07:17 PM what would you like these guys to say. what would be the right thing for you all? 11-5, 12-4, deep playoff run?? come on, be real. I HOPE we go 10-6, 11-5 but realistically can we feel confident is saying that. the norm for this franchise the past 10 years has been sub 500. the exception has been two playoff seasons since 99. The analysts have been somewhat correct in picking where we stand in the NFL for the last 5 or 6 six seasons. These guys have played in the NFL, eat, sleep, and shit football. I dont like to hear sub 500 predictions anymore than you guys, but what have we done lately to prove anyone wrong. the D is a question I dont care how well we play in the preseason. It stunk last year, we made no improvements up front, which has not been good the last two years. Only reason no one mentioned it in 2005 was because we got pressure from other areas. so, upfront we are still the same line as last year. offensively, Campbell is a first year starter, you never know what can happen. he came in last year with no pressure, now he has all the pressure in the world on him. people play differently under different situations related to the amount of pressure they have on them.
You all can't sit here and call them idiots because they dont say things you think you should hear. bottom line, we have not done anything in the past 8+ years to warrant positive feedback from the analysts.
A- friggin' -men.
Reminder for all those offended by Mike & Mike's prediction: THE REDSKINS SUCKED LAST YEAR. We have an unproven youngster at quarterback, our defensive line is old and often injured and the front office did absolutely NOTHING to address it, and our offensive line has taken a step back. So there are legitimate question marks at quarterback, offensive line, and defensive line.
Those factors right there would give just about everyone at this website reason for doubt if it were any other team.
SouperMeister 08-23-2007, 07:26 PM Golic probably also picked his Eagles to go 11-5. Mike & Mike obviously haven't seen our D this preseason. With the emergence of McIntosh, the upgrade at SS with Landry, and Fletcher as a steadying influence, I can easily see this defense keeping us in every game as they did in 2004 and 2005. 8-8 might be a reasonable prediction, but I really feel that this team will finish with a winning record if we can just keep Jason Campbell healthy.
dmek25 08-23-2007, 07:27 PM people around here make me laugh. if someone picks us to do well, everyone wants nothing to do with it. if someone picks us to suck, everyone wants to know where the love is. based on last season, 7-9 or 8-8 would be a pretty good guess
TenandSix:Unacceptable 08-23-2007, 08:00 PM If you made me predict our record for the upcoming season I'd say 9-7 and that is with some homerism sprinkled in. I'd say 6-10 to 9-7 are "reasonable" predictions to make on this team. Anything more or less is going out on a limb. However, I wouldn't be at all shocked to see us land out of that range. I suppose that is one of the interesting things about this year, I really won't be shocked to see us anywhere when it's all said and done.

Well said 56. Until this team rights the ship, we will continue to get dumped on period. I expect way more than a 5-11 season.
backrow 08-24-2007, 12:10 AM Just play ball. I think we will do well, I hope we will. It's fun to prove the talking heads wrong (<cough> Sean Salisbury <cough>)
Otherwise, I only care what the media heads say about the Skins when they justify my fanaticism and feed my need to feel superior b/c of the team I back.
If they fail to worship the Skins - regardless of the team's prior missteps, they are simply meaningless hacks with no in-depth knowledge of the Skins' and whose biased Skin bashing is:
1) Evidence of an obsessive homerism for some other less worthy team;
2) Merely a repetition of the opinion of some other nationally syndicated talking heads who haven't done anything in-depth on the Skins; or
3) based on unabashed hatred for a) Daniel Snyder and his "fantasy football" ways; b) Joe Gibbs and his "Christian Core Redskins"; 3) Art Monk (see how all the conspiracies tie in nicely?).
Man, Joe, that is the deepest thinking I've ever seen! Except you have two (3)'s.
atomicnixon 08-24-2007, 03:16 AM Screw Mike and Mike.
So true. They sit in front of a picture of Julius Jones.
atomicnixon 08-24-2007, 03:20 AM Skins' always perform better when they are under the radar.
Thats because since 1993 they have permanently been under the radar with the exception of 99 and 05.
