FROM Profootballtalk.com: 'SKINS SHUFFLE LINEBACKERS Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Washington Redskins have signed linebacker Randall Godfrey. To create room for Godfrey, the Redskins released linebacker Lemar Marshall. Godfrey, an 11-year veteran, has spent the last three seasons with the Chargers. Before that, he played for the Titans, Seahawks, and Cowboys. Marshall entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2001, and has spent his entire career with the Redskins. They probably scoured the free agent pools for a possible starting LB. Godfrey is what they found. Maybe this guy can pick up G. Williams defense better than anyone else available. No way, that couldn't be it. Some guy off the streets wouldn't know GWs defense better than Marshall. But if this is true, and I have no reason to believe it isn't, Marshall just didn't return to form. Lamar was supposed to be good enough for us to release Pierce - and surely we could have at least traded his ass for a can of tuna. Is he hurt? Did he tell Gibbs that Tony Stewart is overated?
