Alright.... This is a great thing to see in our team. Young Guys that we drafted getting in there and making plays. Rocky, Taylor, Landry, Carlos, HB.. all drafted by us. This is the new way of thinking at Redskins Park and needs to be the way we build our team. I used to be a huge fan of bringing in the big name Free Agents, but I must say they have never performed very well and hurt our team in the long run. Whether it be by financially hurting us or just not gelling with the current group of guys there at the time. What has changed my thinking on this is just how well we have drafted since Gibbs has been here. Granted only one of them has made the ProBowl, but the level of talent on the team has been vastly improved prior to the second Gibbs era.
Next year I would like this team to focus more on the offense, becuase that has been the side of the ball that has been most anemic. We need a good Young tall reciever, a young RB, oline men, and another young TE (considering we aren't getting the Cooley deal done yet). We can't just fill in out offense by pluggin in undrafted free agents. Granted it seems we may have struck a little gold in Heyer but as far as wide outs I just don't think we are going to find Moss's wing man in the undrafted class. Lolyd may come through but I would still love to have a BIG young Target for Jason.
Anyway thats just my take on things. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

why is everyone drooling over a tall receiver? does size matter, as long as you catch the ball? and you talk about a young running back. how old is betts? and portis? and betts legs should be very fresh, considering the amount of carries he has had in his short career. we need to draft lineman on both sides of the ball

Big receivers have a wider and taller "catch radius" without having to leap exponentially to snag the ball. Like Fitzgerald, Terrell Owens, and now Calvin Johnson, they are all able to use their frames to shield defenders from making plays on the ball. Ex-basketball players (ex. Gonzalez, Gates, & R. Moss) who play in the NFL use this to "box out" the defender.
We do need at least one outside of Cooley to be a red zone weapon at least.

My personal opinion is at first day of draft, we need to search and draft a DE or G.. Those areas are priorities compared to others.. Well, yea what about WRs? I think we won't have any problem with WRs this year, we gotta give some players a second chance sometime.. As for TE, I don't think we need to draft other unless Cooley leaves and sign somewhere else (I PRAY TO GOD THAT THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN), we already have Yoder who seems to do well lately..

Well it sure would be nice for a good redzone threat and down the middle of the field on 3rd and 2nd and longs. Not having to punish our smaller recievers in the middle or get them hurt. Those are a couple of reasons why a possesion reciever would be nice. I don't know take your pick.
Hell check out my name. A 6'3" possesion reciever that we all think should be in the Hall of Fame. I don't know why everybody wants a big reciever?

Portis and Betts are both 26 I think or Betts may be 27 but Portis will be 26 on September 1st and Steve Smith is only 5'9" and arguably the best reciever in the league. He and Santana Moss have proven (especially in 2005) that you dont need to be a tall reciever to be productive.

But more Defense. Don't you think we should at least try to worry about a big WR? Cooley can't do it all the time. I'm sure JC would appreciate another weapon. I don't see this Offense doing much so far. And to be honset they didn't show us anything better last year.
Our D looks great but I don't want to see another peformance like 04 offense.
Granted I really don't think we are looking at anything that bad this year but another Art Monk type guy would be a great fit here.
