For those who did not see the game, DT Lorenzo Alexander lost his helmet during the initial push of the defensive line. He followed the play, helmetless, and made the tackle along with another Skin (I believe a safety). During the tackle, his cheek and the facemask of his teammate collided, an impact that, visually, could best be described as what it would look like if I dropkicked a Reuben sandwich.
Any word on his injury in the news? I haven't seen anything so far.

That was nuts. It brought back memories of Ravin Caldwell.
It looked like he got in in the cheek. It was Reed Doughty that hit him.
No update.

love the hustle
The hustle was great, but you gotta be smart too. Leading with your head on a tackle without a helmet...not too smart. He's lucky all he got was ground round cheek.

In my less mature past, that's how I've described the "lady parts" of a few regrettable one-night stands. I'm just happy to have entered it into polite conversation.
Also available: "Took a chainsaw to a boiled ham."

Fidel Castro eating London Broil is how I heard them described.

I've always gone with "It looks like someone threw a hand grenade into a deli."
