What's a "win" for this first preseason game?mooby 08-10-2007, 11:16 PM 1. No Injuries 2. Players playing well, minimal mistakes for the rookies and progress for Campbell, McIntosh 3. A win mooby 08-10-2007, 11:17 PM I don't know about that. Last preseason, we heard excuse after excuse as to why the Skins looked like poop. We know how that turned out. Some teams can look real good in exhibition. Pittsburgh and Dallas looked pretty sharp in their first preseason games. Why can't we for a change? Well two years ago the Colts went 0-5, but started out 13-0. Some teams like the Redskins need to win in the preseason to build confidence, but some teams like the Colts don't have to prove anything in the preseason because they know they are already good. JGisLordOfTheRings 08-10-2007, 11:18 PM #5 is the top definitely the top "win" for this first game. Here's my short list: -Having the D-line soundly stop the run would be a pleasant surprise. -Two bomb throws by JC to Lloyd and ARE would be comforting. -INT return for a TD by Smoot will be welcomed. -My 2 year old singing "Hail To The Redskins" without missing any words would bring tears to my eyes. Gotta get em started early. My 4 year old can recite the words by heart by this time, Im sure. MonkManiac 08-10-2007, 11:23 PM I don't know about that. But talk alot of shit about us., JGisLordOfTheRings 08-10-2007, 11:33 PM We just need to show that we dont suck, plain and simple. The 1st teams on O and D need to show that they have progressed and are prepared to win games. NicknacK89 08-10-2007, 11:34 PM laron to lay some guys out would be awsome JGisLordOfTheRings 08-10-2007, 11:35 PM laron to lay some guys out would be awsome Agreed. I would love to see #30 take VY's head off! Dont get me wrong, I like VY, I just wanna see LaRon go ST on somone! I really don't think its so much about WINNING, as it is about playing well. I mean as long as we play pretty well for the first half, than we know were in good shape, and a win dosent really mean a whole lot (I guess it could be different for the 3rd preseason game)....but if we go out there and get smacked 41-0 like we did last year, or outscored 14-0 with our starters in and then make it not look so bad with our 4th stringers, thats a wayyy different story... I dont think the preseason "wins" are somthing you really can boil down and say...its successful if this, this and this happen. I think you see the game and you can pretty much tell from there. I dont expect us to be GREAT tommarow, but I would like to see a team that is playing together, moving hte ball and stepping it up on defense. |
