This seems like an otherwise nice forum but there's a glaring omission - there appears to be no George Allen avatar available! Hopefully the site's maintenance team can take care of this problem ASAP. HTTR

I'll let them know. The maintenance team is busy on the plumbing (nice WORK AMD) and once they get that taken care of, I'm sure they'll get on it.

Seriously, why are you so fascinated with George Allen? Ever since you joined this site that's basically all you've talked about.

Are we really talking about George Allen here? I mean not even a recent coach but George Allen!

I readily admit to being fascinated with George Allen and more interested in talking about him than I even am in talking about the current Redskins. GA was more than a great football coach - his enthusiasm, his coaching philosophy, his "the future is now" motto, his ability to turn around the fortunes of losing teams overnight, his great abiliities as a psychological motivator and other factors make him not only very interesting, but also inspiring.

The Redskins were losers for most of the previous 2 decades before George Allen arrived; GA took the Redskins to their first Super Bowl and never had a losing season with the Redskins (or his other NFL team, the Rams - who were losers before GA arrived). George Allen, in addition to being a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was voted as one of the 70 Greatest Redskins and probably did more than any other Redskin to promote the Redskins-Cowboys rivalry. GA is one of the great major impact figures in the history of the storied Washington Redskins franchise.
