So Schneed, How much after the Landry signing, How much cap does that leave the Redskins with?

Well they had to stay under the $2.1 million rookie pool. And according to JLC, they had $6.6 million in cap room before Landry signed. So therefore, they have at least $4.5 million in space right now.

I can't tell you any more than that right now, because Landry's contract details haven't been laid out yet. But it would figure that his cap figure will jump up by quite a bit in 2008 or 2009, depending on the structure of the contract.

For now, we seem to have left ourselves with the space to resign Cooley during 2007, or something like that.

I'd have to agree with what others have suggested. The guaranteed money is probably spread out over the contract and not all up front. This would make it possible to have $17M in guarantees and still fit under this year's rookie pool.
