"I just need to go out and catch balls, continue to run good routes, continue to make big plays," Lloyd said. "I feel like I need to continue to run routes and continue to block. Everything. I need to improve at everything."
Notice how he keeps using the word continue, like he actually did these things last year. I hope he's got his head on straight, because he could be a beast in this offense.
skins009 07-29-2007, 11:44 AM You should be glad he's talking this way. The mind of an athlete must be one of absolute confidence at all times. If he was down on himself and rattled from last year then I would be concerned. You heard it hear first, he's gonna have a solid year.
hooskins 07-29-2007, 11:55 AM I am still not too sure about Lloyd. I thought he was great before because he seemed to have passion. I liked him quite a bit, but when I heard about all the crap he was talking last season, I have lost all confidence in him.
Personally I dont think we need huge production from him. We still have Moss, El and perhaps Thrash which I still feel is enough.

I am glad he's talking that way, and I'm very concerned. FO gave up alot to get him, and he did absolutely nothing last year. Not to mention all the bullcrap behind the scenes. I'm not going to give the benefit of the doubt to someone who's done nothing to earn it. That being said, here's to hoping he blows up this year.
Longtimefan 07-29-2007, 12:56 PM Words have a way of flowing more easily than deeds. I've found it wise to hang my hat on what one does, as opposed to what one says.. I listen, I watch, and I wait, results is what I'm looking for.
While it's good to hear talk is cheap this time of year. Let's see him walking the walk during the season.
wilsowilso 07-29-2007, 02:16 PM I knew he had a bad year, but the Post actually said statistically speaking he had the worst year of any starting wide reciever in the Super Bowl era!!!!!!
That is straight up embarassing. I sure hope that utter humiliation doesn't sit well with him.
Oakland Red 07-29-2007, 02:58 PM Lloyd sounds to me like he is focused, and he says that he knows he needs to "improve on everything." Shawn Springs has made it clear that he thinks Lloyd has as much talent as he has seen in any receiver he's played with.
Last year was a learning experience, and I think that Lloyd will surprise people this year.

Think about this, one of our starting WRs had the WORST years for a starting WR in the SB era, our D had a league WORST 6 interceptions, a record LOW 12 takeaways, a record LOW sacks in a season. On top of this our star players like CP and Moss got or played injured, we lost PP on the very first play, we had one of the WORST FA additions of all time in Adam Archuleta - basically, last year if it could go wrong it did go wrong!!!
I'm not saying its all gonna be right this year, but with so much being so bad all it will take is a few things to improve for us to be much better this year.
GusFrerotte 07-29-2007, 05:25 PM This is why I got mad at the thread of Portis saying that garbage that his heart wasn't into last season. Talk is cheap!!!!!!!! Let us see what the mother does on the field!!!!!!
