Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/)

A few players were available to the media before the start of practice at 5.

Marcus Washington got his braces off and was happy about that. No more ortho appointments. Gotta think the prospect of shredding your lips on your braces every Sunday wasn't a whole lot of fun either.

Not an expert but his choppers looked pretty darn shiny and straight to me.

Clinton Portis said that he kind of took the game for granted entering last season, was burned out, and vows to return to the CP of old. Says he is cool with sharing the load, though clearly believes he is the definite starter, and said that if he gets fewer carries that Ladell Betts some weeks, then that's okay, too.

Clinton also conceded that no matter how good he might feel right now coming off shoulder, hand and knee injuries, it won't mean much until he starts taking hits and seeing how his body holds up. He hasn't done anything really strenuous yet. His mental outlook is refreshed as well, he says.

Portis has no plans for more costumes, so it appears that the days of Dolla Bill or over for good.

As for other random observations:

Frosty The Punter must be feeling pretty good these days. Derrick Frost is the only punter on the roster.

Also, Shaun Suisham is being "challenged" by Tyler Fredrickson. Yeah, that Tyler Fredrickson, the one with all those game winning kicks a few years back ... No, seriously, this is a first year kid out of Cal, which explains why the word challenged is in quotes.

Thanks for the info. I know that I am, as well as mostly every other person here, so happy, optimistic, excited, and a little bit nervous thats the long wait is over. The 2007 NFL football season is here! I can't stop smiling.

Haha I am glad for Marcus. I am still thinking about swinging over to camp today. Starts at 5 right? I live about 10-15 minutes away from it.

They're still human, money doesn't buy happiness and it's all relative anyway. I don't know about you but my happiness doesn't equate to how much money I make.

I'd rather be sad, depressed, or what ever and rich than sad and depressed and poor. I know it does not buy you happiness but I see a trend of people blaming these things for last year. Why not just say we had a sh^&y year and this is a whole new season and I'm ready to the past behind us with some winning football. Thats all they need to say.

Ok, I hope that when you said " I hope Moss bounces back to" you mean that he has a better year and not that he has said something like MW and CP.

YES, for the love of God, that is what I meant...
