I just got done watching benjamin button. It was a really good movie all around with some of the best make up and special effects I've seen in a movie especially with Brad Pitt during his early aka old years.

I may be in the minority but I thought the movie Hangover was not all that great. 40 year old virgin, superbad, old school and office space top that for me. Even super troopers to tell ya the truth. Speaking of Office Space, Mike Judge is coming out with a new movie, should be good stuff.. It's tough to make a good comedy. I'd say it's the best since Superbad. I liked the awkward style of comedy that they frequently use. I think different people grow up on different styles of comedy, like old comedies are not funny to me at all. I think I'm opposite in that I didn't really like 40-year old virgin or Super Troopers and Old School wasn't that good for me. I feel like those could be grouped in the same style of comedy that doesn't really work as well for me. hooskins 06-24-2009, 10:23 AM It's tough to make a good comedy. It it is weird because I know those movies are a different style because they "feel" different but I cannot put it into words. In other movies, I have IMAX tickets to Transformers 2 tonight. Hopefully it will not disappoint. hooskins 06-24-2009, 10:25 AM I agree with you. It was funny, It just was not as funny as everyone was saying it was. I personally liked "I Love you Man", a ton. I thought it was more down to earth comedy. Like kind of the average man's comedy/awkwardness. I don't know it just was easier for me to relate to it. I guess that is why I liked all those other movies more. Hangover was really really out there. funny for sure, but it didn't suit my fancy; maybe I just couldn't relate to it. The first was outstanding, I hope this one follows suit. BleedBurgundy 06-24-2009, 10:52 AM a buddy of mine saw a sneak preview on Monday. Said it was amazing. Liked it better than the first. MTK 06-24-2009, 11:14 AM I'm sure Transformers 2 will be more of the same from the first. Lot's of explosions and action, silly plot and dialogue, Megan Fox showing off her goods. Sounds like a typical summer hit. mredskins 06-24-2009, 02:34 PM I just got done watching benjamin button. I saw that movie and did you not feel like you were watching Forrest Gump all over again? SmootSmack 06-24-2009, 02:49 PM Zombies are the new Vampires. I went to the book store the other day and there like 100 new books about zombies. I bought one called Patient Zero - looks like it's sort of a cross between 24 and Night of the Living Dead but I haven't started it yet. This looks interesting THE REVENANT (http://therevenantmovie.com/) My buddy from college is in it skinsfanthru&thru 06-24-2009, 11:30 PM I saw that movie and did you not feel like you were watching Forrest Gump all over again? After looking back I guess yeah it did, but I don't know, there was something about the movie and premise that got to me more than Gump did. As far as Transformers 2 goes, action wise it takes a giant dump on the first one and I loved the first one. This felt like the cartoon totally come to life and it was awesome from begining to end with only one real part where it kinda dragged a bit. And suprisingly it was funny as hell 2. I'm going to see it again Saturday. Oh and IMAX is the only way to appreciate this movie's action scenes properly. |
