Rice is old, came from a better defense, and didn't produce last year. Let's not go near him. I'd rather save up for future years, three year contract would be a stupid decision, he has one year left at best

The release of Rice was not a cap saving move. If it were, he would have been cut on June 1st.

He was cut because he could not pass a physical and his shoulder is still not healed yet. The guy is rode hard, put up wet and injured.

Why sign a guy to a contract if he is not going to be able to contribute?

The only team that needs to sign a guy like Rice is one which needs depth at the position. the 'Skins need someone who can come in and contribute from the start.

Pass of Rice, watch the waiver wire during camp and you could find someone with more miles on him.
Ok, I'm agreeing with a Dallas fan. We did scouting reports on rice and they came back poor so the Skins did not persue him and have no intentions of bringing him to Redskins park. So this is a non issue.
