Wow, a bit of a surprise here! This leaves some big shoes to fill on their OL.

No way the Colts make it back to the SB. They might not make the playoffs.
I could see them falling off a bit, but unless they get hit hard with injuries I can't imagine them winning less than 10 games. They still have a lot of weapons on offense and their D played great in the playoffs.

I agree with Matty, that is one of the most, if not the most talented team in the NFL. I really can respect the way Glenn is going out though. Tiki did it at the start of the season, and look how much crap he caught all year for it. This guy just came off a good season, got his ring, why not leave on top. Classy guy if you ask me, classy guy.

Don't be so convinced he's done. He's been a great top-flight left tackle for a long time and has said money doesn't have anything to do with this. He was there for the OTAs and is still in damn good physical shape. What comes around this time of year that lots of players hate? Oh yeah, training camp!
The Colts will have Glenn be a 16 game starter for them barring any sort of injury. He's just doing this to get out of training camp and he might even be playing in the pre-season.

That will be a tough one to swallow for the Colts. He was quietly one of the best tackles in the game and they really will miss him in pass protection on Manning's blind side.

Reading the article, I think he's serious. Indy seems to be a pretty good organization and I don't recall any off-field BS coming out of there. I think the majority of the Colts players are stand-up guys and Dungy is a high-quality coach and person. I don't know the guy personally, but I don't think Glenn would do that to his team or coach just to miss camp. If he really just wanted to miss training camp, he would have come up with a "high-ankle" sprain that would have sidelined him 3 or 4 weeks.
Maybe he just wants to skip camp, but there are other easier ways to go about that rather than announcing retirement.

This is sort of like when Willie Roaf "suddenly" retired, or was it Will Shields? Or was it both?
