Yeah, Carter came on at the end of the year and he started playing the way I thought he would all season. However, I was never that disappointed in him in the first place. He can't play the run...that makes him just like 90% of all the other pass rushing ends in the league. I like the guy, he's the best end they've had in years...apparently some people would rather the Skins just blitz whenever they need to get pressure and still never get sacks...My point is this: why give him $10 million to sign plus $20 million more over 7 years when you can just put Marcus Washington down there with his hand on the ground at no extra charge, and get the same effect.

Washington would get eaten alive on running downs. MW at End makes sense in nickel/dime situations - don't they already rush him in their dime package? - on 1st and second? Would wear him down and he would get steamrolled.

We can second guess player acquisitions/contracts all day long, but in the end these are the players we have so let's find a way to use them the best way possible.

Which is exactly my point. I'm not suggesting they move Washington to defensive end, but Carter is such a liability on rushing downs that I KNOW that Evans or Wynn could do better. And then come an obvious passing situation, we could bump Marcus Washington down.

when Dallas played Washington, I saw the middle of your line as the culprit on running downs, not the end, but I didn't see that many Washington games last year - 3-4 I think.

I understand that. You actually elaborated on your point very well last offseason. I, however, am of the opinion that having 2 guys who are good ends/can rush the passer very well on the D is a good idea. I too think that the contract for Andre is a little steep, however, I think he will prove to be worth it in the end.

He's no smaller than Freeney really and it would only be on passing downs where I think they are concerend that his effectiveness could be hampered by the hip. From the reports we've heard Rocky has the athleticism to be great on coverage. We already know Fletcher and Marshall are good in coverage so keeping him in to rush the passer makes a lot of sense to me. I'd rather have those four guys in and either Daniels or Golston out on passing downs. Probably Golston as it sounds like Daniels will slide inside to DT in this situation.

They may be similar in size but that's it. Freeney is a pure edge speed pass rusher and MW is a strongside LB that plays over the TE. They just have totally different skills. But MW might be the best we have so send his ass. But we have got the address this in the 08 draft. Who on our front 7 scares anyone as far as pass rush skills go? No one.

I'm a make this simple I go to Madden 07 for my football ratings and if you change MW position from LB to DE his overall rating is 99. (Madden 08 coming soon) LOL. I've been playing with that roster for months now, I'm glad to see the coaching staff finally caught up......SNYDER GIVE ME A JOB!!!!!!
