see the McCardell thread. Seems about the same idea; an aging vet to add depth, though Smith is a little younger isn't he? and he still put up decent #s as a possession reciever last year didn't he?
If Rod Smith gets cut...freddyg12 07-12-2007, 11:19 AM see the McCardell thread. Great player, though. Anyone remember the game in 1995 where Rod Smith, then just an undrafted rookie WR from Missouri State that no one had heard of, caught the winning TD pass to beat the Redskins 38-31? It was his first success in the NFL so ending his career in Washington would be sort of coming full circle. God that was terrible. Thanks for opening up an old wound. Wasn't it D.Green who got beat on that? I remember it was a crazy long pass from Elway. jdlea 07-12-2007, 11:42 AM Rod Smith can probably still be a productive ballplayer, but I doubt he would come here to be a situational pass catcher. Since Keyshawn's retirement, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in TN FRPLG 07-12-2007, 11:43 AM God that was terrible. Thanks for opening up an old wound. Wasn't it D.Green who got beat on that? I remember it was a crazy long pass from Elway. I remember the play but not the WR. All I know was Elway sprinted a little to his right and just chucked the ball to the middle of the filed into the endzone and the WR just out jumped Green for the TD. I think time expired didn't it? skinsfan_nn 07-12-2007, 12:21 PM see the McCardell thread. They are both the same age within a couple of months, both born in 1970. KM just has four more years experience under his belt in the league. But Smith has put up solid numbers his entire career, even last season. Either WR would serve the same purpose solid depth. I just don't see either coming to DC for VET min., ONE YEAR, and that would be proubally be the only smart way to bring in either one of these guys. 70Chip 07-12-2007, 03:28 PM Rod Smith went to the same college as James Thrash.
