**UPDATE**: Vick Not Likely to Be Indicted Following RaidGhettoDogAllStars 07-06-2007, 11:26 AM ... and why did they let Schaub go? He has started 2 NFL GAMES. I don't know his stats but the Texans are really counting a lot on a guy with no starting experience. I think ATL got rid of him for a few reasons. One, they wanted to get something for him before he became a FA. And two they still have Vick. I gues MGT still think Vick was the better guy and they have more invested in him. He may not be a great pocket passer but he is still a good NFL QB that has playoff starting experience. D'BOYZ 07-06-2007, 02:15 PM Schaub was creating to much controversy with falcons fans trading him was a way of the front office 2 support Vick but I guess it bit them i nthe Arsh hesscl34 07-06-2007, 02:56 PM I really don't think he'll get cut for this. It's not good press, that's for sure, but I don't see them cutting him.... We didn't get rid of ST when he got arrested. GTripp0012 07-06-2007, 02:57 PM I really don't think he'll get cut for this. We didn't get rid of ST when he got arrested.I think he'll get cut at seasons end because it allows the Falcons to rid themselves of a player who is hindering their offense while satisfing the PR side of the game. 724Skinsfan 07-06-2007, 03:21 PM This whole thing smells of sabotage. The Atlanta Falcons management doesn't want Vick to lead their team; so they plant a bunch of evidence at one of his homes that he rarely visits. That way when he gets busted, they can get rid of him without absorbing a major cap hit by citing contract violation due to illegal activites. It's happening all around the NFL. Wait till we get a good commissioner who's not afraid to take on the real bad guys. :cheeky-sm Slingin Sammy 33 07-06-2007, 03:33 PM I think he'll get cut at seasons end because it allows the Falcons to rid themselves of a player who is hindering their offense while satisfing the PR side of the game. I don't believe Vick is going anywhere soon due to the salary cap hit, it would be over $ 16 million this season. If the Falcons do release him at some point it would probably be after June 1, 2008 when the hit would be lower and could be spread over 2008 & 2009 caps. dallass-blows 2 07-06-2007, 04:53 PM we Should sign him!!!!!!!!!! yay! skinsfan_nn 07-06-2007, 06:15 PM The evening news in Hampton Roads, on the vick property. I don't think Vick is going anywhere. I don't think he is ever going to be a 65% passer. That is not his strength. That's also not what makes a good QB. Some guys, like Ben R. McNabb, Vince Young and Vick are playmakers, not pure pocket guys. He doesn't turn it over that much and he does not have good WR's so keep that in mind too. But he has gotten his team to the NFC Champ, Div round and made a Pro Bowl or two. Alot of guys in the NFL have not done that. So far IMO he is a middle of the pack NFL QB. |
