4.5, kind of reminds you about how much rookies train for the combine, when the emphasis should be placed more on training for the gridiron. I actually heard that Charles Rogers ran a 4.8, thats a huge drop considering he was timed running a sub-4.4 40 before coming into the league. I wonder how some of the NFL's elite would fair if they had to go through the combine all over again.
I think if you did that, scouts might start realizing that the combine isn't really that important.

the legends of the NFL never had the gaudy speed numbers (except for....u kno darrell green) but they are still the legends of the game. I read on a website that Dick Butkis ran a 5.2 before he came into the league, and i think he did decent in his career

I'm not to concerned with this. Taylor is Taylor...He hits hard and with good form (If there is a form involved with hitting). I love the hits he puts on people, but sometimes I would rather have him running back INT's. Witha 4.5 40 yd, this guy is going to scare the lights out of anyone coming of the middle, and make the QB throw elsewhere. He'll still be slapping people around though.

Now Sean Taylor is faster and hits just as hard. Not looking good for the other teams in the NFC East.
