Of course I've noticed it in the past, but it just seems like more and more recently, I'll go up to the checkout line in the grocery store or the drive-through at a fast food place and the assholes working there act like they want to kill themselves.
I've had my share of crappy jobs, but regardless you're still getting paid which is something more than a lot of people can say and you can at least FEIGN being civil. I'm not asking you to put on a smile showing off 1,712 of your teeth, but at least don't act like I'm putting you out by asking you to do your fucking job.

on the other hand, there is this girl at the taco bell near me. She works at the drive through and she has this big smile on her face and she leans out the window to talk to you. It is hard to explain but i'll be going to that taco bell again :D

I was sitting at a light in DC, with my window down.. and one of those guys on the bikes that courier around the city was zipping by and I guess he saw that my window was down so he decided to ride by my car and say "You stupid, stuck up bi+ch" ... I was just sitting there minding my own buisiness.. Nice.

Agreed 100%. I can't stand people in customer service positions that have shitty attitudes. In fact, shitty attitudes are so common in those types of jobs(at least in my area), that when I actually come across the rare person that appears happy and takes pride in their job, I have to tell somebody, like I just saw bigfoot or something.

It is my new goal in life to make sure they pay for that. I called two separate businesses today to report to the managers the names of the employees working at that time. Seriously, I try to ALWAYS be civil and even friendly so all I ask is for some respect back.

the truth is, those people take a lot more shit than they put out. I mean there are customers that are complete dicks. And just as a customer would say, i'm just trying to get what i want, the employees would say, i'm just trying to do my job. Both customers and workers get a lot of shit and most of them don't deserve it.
For example: Fire In The Hole Tribute - YourDailyMedia.com (http://www.yourdailymedia.com/media/1181821834/Fire_In_The_Hole_Tribute)
I don't find that funny at all. These people are just trying to do their jobs. Obviously this doesn't happen often at all but the employees put up with a lot of shit that they don't need. And some people say that it is just part of the job but the truth is, it isn't. They don't need to be badgered by idiots and it is definitely not their job to do it.
luckily i haven't had to work behind a counter permanently, but i have spent weeks working at 7-11s and have also worked concession stands at university of maryland lacrosse games for an organization. Some people are annoying as f... THe cool thing about the concession stands was that I was with 15-20 people that i knew. If i was with people i didn't really like, it would be worse. I had to listen to so much shit because we didn't serve coffee. I mean, its not like i come up with the menu.
Right now i work 40 hours a week but its a nice cushy office job and i make 440 a week. I would hate to work those jobs, like many of my friends, and make 7 bucks an hour. I can see why they are upset so i say, cut them a little bit of a break even though customers don't deserve to be treated that way.
