This is actually a significant loss for them:

ESPN - Giants place Finn on IR, lose FB for 2007 season - NFL (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2903390)

Starting fullback Jim Finn (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=4903), whose importance to the New York Giants (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=nyg)' was always more significant than the statistics he posted, will miss the entire 2007 season after the team placed the seven-year veteran on injured reserve on Wednesday.

I read this earlier. I think this will hurt them some.

Matty:

You are spot-on here - - as the Brits would say. This is a BIG loss for the Giants given the way they want to implement their running offense AND given the blocking responsibilities that the FB has on that team. Finn was one of the most under-appreciated players in the NFL. He wouldn't be a huge addition to lots of other teams, but he was very important to the Giants' offense based on what they wanted to do and his abilities to help them achieve what they wanted to do.

I think the Giants are in big trouble this year. Manning is going to get absolutely bum rushed this year without Barber in the backfield. I predict no more than six wins. Obviously this makes things even worse.

The Giants were already in trouble no Tiki, now they are in bigger trouble. I don't see them doing jack this season, I think they will tank this year. Way to many issues in NY. Should be good for us, I see us sweeping them this season!

Sorry about the injury. I like to play teams with all of their best players on the roster. Man to man, no excuses, that way you see how you measure up against the competition. With that said, it couldn't have happened to a better team. Uh oh, don't look know but, I think Tiki has just gashed us for another 40 yard run.

Losing both Tiki and Finn all at once is a big deal, especially if they want to take some heat off of Eli. Both those guys killed us in the past!

I think the Giants are going to be the worst team in our division hands down. Their defense is awful and they didn't really upgrade, Eli has thrown 35 ints the past two seasons (2nd most in the league over that span), and Tom Coughlin is a lame duck. Not to mention they love to collapse down the stretch. Their O-line is suspect, and now Tiki and Finn are gone?? I saw something on ESPN- Tiki Barber was the only player in the NFL to have over half of his team's touches on offense last season. And now he's gone. Mark my words, they are going to stink out loud.
