jsarno 06-14-2007, 11:07 PM Hands down NE had the best offseason.
I think they had an overhyped offseason. Sure it was good, but Cleveland had the best IMO.
Joe Thomas (drafted)
Brady Quinn (drafted)
Jamaal Lewis
Seth McKinney
Eric Steinbach
Robaire Smith
Tim Carter (upgrade from Northcutt)
Mike Adams
Not only did they fill holes, they filled those holes with top notch talent for the most part. That is hands down the best offseason the Browns have EVER had, and hands down the best this year.
skinsfan69 06-14-2007, 11:32 PM Let's wait and see which Randy shows up before saying that. He can singlehandedly rip that locker room apart.
Moss isn't ripping NE's locker room apart. They have too many strong vets. He needs them more than they need him. They got Stallworth, A. Thomas and Walker. Plus Chad Jackson hasn't even got in the mix.
4mrusmc 06-14-2007, 11:41 PM I think the Redskins had the best offseason in the league! They attacked every weakness they believed to be important. Lost only one player who made any sort of contribution. Established depth at every position on the team. Who has 5 CB's as good as the skins? Who has the safety depth we have? Who has the RB depth we have? Who has the LB depth we have? Who has the oline depth we have? Dare I say it, we actually have some QB depth. The only place I see any depth issues is DE and DT, but we still have 3 quality DE's and we have only have two quality DT's. We have some other DT's Salavea and Montgomery that could provide quality depth and a few DE's that may provide some in Demetric Evans and this guy Hickman.
I honestly do not see a hole on this team at all. Our starting 22, is as good as anyones in the entire NFL.
We have the coaches and their systems in place. This is going to be our year. We are going to wear teams down with Portis & Betts, beat them over the top with Moss and in the middle with Cooley.
We are going to stuff the run with Fletcher, stop the pass with a healthy Springs, Rogers, and Taylor and showdow any playmaker with Landry. As well as blitz from every direction imagible.
Plus everyone is sleeping on us. Am I the only one who sees this? Why don't we start looking at the good of this team instead of nitpicking?
Wow, this guy had a big ole' glass of Redskins' koolaid didn't he? Yeah, that's right, we will "secondary" you to death. This sounds like a good signature, "We will secondary you to death". What do you guys think?
EARTHQUAKE2689 06-15-2007, 01:20 AM Can you even buy beer? Dude I thougt you were like 17 or something.
I can get it. I am not 17. I am 18. But no one ever cards me when I walk into a store. But, I can buy him a 6 pack. Beer doesnt get me drunk.
EARTHQUAKE2689 06-15-2007, 01:21 AM If Moss does cause problems, Belichick can cut him. . . . The genius of Belichick/Pioli is that all of their offseason signing brought minimal risk to the team. Moss can get cut at any time with no financial penalty for the Pats. Stallworth has the equivalent of a 1 year, $3M contract. The only "big money" signing was Adalius Thomas, a perfect fit for the Pats' defensive system.
Big contrast with the moron twins (Snyder and Cerrato). But, then again, that's why the Pats are perennial winners, and Washington is not.
that is exactly what i posted.
Crazyhorse1 06-15-2007, 04:47 AM It's hard to see how we have had a great off-season. We still have a question mark at every DL spot, did nothing to improve our OL or skill positions on offense. We probably improved at safety and MLB but have question marks at weakside LB and a guy at strongside getting a little older. Maybe Springs will last at CB and Smoot is still a guy who can help (Who knows?)."
If both are zip (which is more than possible), we're looking at a group of barely adequate CB's.
Unless Campbell's as great as he might be and Lloyd improves drastically, we'll be fighting to finish 8 and 8.
budw38 06-15-2007, 11:17 PM Since NE is the popular pick here , I will say Denver . They added RB Henry , who should rush for around 1,500 yds this year . Denver drafted 3 rookies last year QB Cutler,TE Scheffler and WR Marshall , this year they add 5 DL , and CB Bly .they might not make the AFC title game given that Cutler is only in year 2 , but if tha Pats and Colts drop off this year , Denver might be the team to beat . Lets just hope our moves show up big this year and JC gives us some big time QB play !!!
4mrusmc 06-16-2007, 11:18 AM I know that this off topic a bit, but I know about this time last year, one of our more innovative members started a training camp count down ticker. Is it too early for that now?
jsarno 06-16-2007, 09:59 PM I am really surprised that I am the only person that thinks Cleveland had a great offseason.
EARTHQUAKE2689 06-16-2007, 10:03 PM I am really surprised that I am the only person that thinks Cleveland had a great offseason.
that is because everyone thought the exact same thing last season.
