Good for LT. The focus should be on the investigation though, not what other players think of the situation.

lol love the title of the thread. I love this paragraph of the article. Yet another excuse for people to bash Portis.

Unlike Redskins lunkhead Clinton Portis, Tomlinson fully understands what all the fuss is about, why dogfighting is anathema to the animal rights activists, why the NFL has denounced the practice as “cruel, degrading and illegal” and why it's a felony in 48 states.

Good for LT. He is one of the best ambassadors the league has ever had.

I honestly think LT should be the first player put in the HOF while still playing. Class act and NFL record holder. HOF automatically. Great to know the game still has some class in its upper eschilon.

Then there was "LUNKHEAD".....

LT is first class player on and off the field it appears, good for him.

People do not need an excuse to bash Portis, he creates his own reasons for bashing him. He should change his name to Forrest. 'I am not a smart man.'

"It's a very tough deal that Vick is in. I feel like maybe at times you think (something) is not really bad till something happens. Then, oh my goodness, people are making a big deal out of it."

Now Portis was an idiot for what he said, and in general he likes to clown around with the media, but isn't this in essence the message that Portis was trying to convey. Obviously Portis' remarks came off as a downplaying the seriousness of dogfighting but I feel like thats partially due to the media spinning it that way. They wouldn't dream of doing that with LT, though, cuz he is the posterboy of the NFL.

I completely agree. I think they were trying to say basically the same thing, but Portis just tried to be funny about it.

LT also had the benefit of hearing come across as a jackass, so he knew what he should and shouldn't say when some dumbass reporter shoved a mic in his face and asked him about dog fighting.

As for this writer, I wonder if he refers to Shawn Merriman or Luis Castillo as 'lunkheads' after both were caught using steroids.
