They talked about the Portis comments and Cooley said that the players are giving him a hard time. He said it was more of a joking hard time and he also said that he knew that sh*& would hit the fan when he heard of his comments. He also talked of the hard work that JC has put in this off season and it really shows in his performance at OTA's. He also talked about how much speed the O has picked up over last year. When asked about our season he said that it would hing on the performance of our O. He did not mention anything about our D or I missed what he said due to poor reception. The person he was talking with (don't know who it was) were joking about how Colley would be a rich man in a month or so. I could not really tell if it was just joking or if Colley really thought he would have a deal done with the Skins before the season starts. My opinion was that Cooley thought they would get the deal done. He also talked about how he has been hanging around with Dale Jr and they have become good friends. I wonder if Gibbs is going to get Cooley to talk DJ into racing for him. LOL

That's Elliot from Elliot in the Morning (http://www.eitmonline.com) talking to Cooley. I missed the interview, but it may be posted on the site later.
Supposedly, Cooley left the Beach Bash to fly to Charlotte to hang out with Junior...

It was a good interview but it's more for entertainment than for football info, per se.
The stuff about Jr was classic! Elliot was asking him questions as if the two guys were dating and Cooley just played along.
During the season EITM will have weekly interviews with Cooley on Mondays and interviews with Boomer Esiason every Friday.

I heard a rumor that cc was drunk at the blast, only signed for a few people and left. Is there any truth to that?

At the Beach Blast golf classic, my group was paired with Cooley's group. You can get pretty comfortable talking to someone during a golf game, and around the 10th hole, there was talk about his contract. He sounded less than optimistic. He basically said that Dan told him they would get a contract worked out at the end of last season so he thought things were cool, but then as the season got closer they started making him offers that were comparable to what an average tight end would get. Cooley feels like he is above average and should be paid accordingly. He said he was uneasy about the way negotiations were going, and didn't sound real confident he would be in DC next year.
Maybe not what people want to hear, and maybe it was just lip service, but he sure as heck sounded genuine.
P.S. He also said the cheerleaders won't even talk to him anymore but that if they could just keep thier mouths shut nobody would ever find out...
He is responsible for 3 dismissals.

That hurts my soul. From what JLC reported earlier in the offseason it sounds like exactly the same thing they did to Dockery. No one would have paid him what the Bills did, but they completely low-balled him in early negotiations and pretty much disrespected the man. Why the hell would they not learn from that? Let's start a letter writing campaign to The Danny ... kind of like when the uproar over Juwan Howard leaving for Miami in '94 forced Abe Polin to give him $105 million :) ... hopefully the keeping Cooley would prove more fruitful.

He left the Beach Blitz to fly to Charlotte Saturday after golf to go hang with the NASCAR boys. First hand on that one, I was with him on the golf course.
