Do you think Casey Bramlet has a chance to make #3 QB

With Bramletts numbers if he can keep improving he may at some point catch the eye of another team and have some trade value or stay and become our #2 guy next year after Brunell retires. I do not watch NFl Eur. but is he playing that good or does he just have that good of a team.

I saw a bit of game earlier this week. I wasn't that impressed. He totally underthrew a wide open receiver and cost his team a sure touchdown. But that was one bad play. It looked like the other team's secondary really sucked or his WRs were that good. The CBs back were almost always turned or out of position.

I'd still prefer him to Collins though. Give him or Palmer a shot.

So you think Casey is a long shot for the #3 spot?

I think collins is on his way out, Casey would IMO be the most reasonable replacement at the #3 spot.

Collins has a huge advantage in that he's someone that Saunders really trusts. Bramlet would have to be very, very impressive in camp in order for him to take Collins spot. I just don't see that happening.

Casey Bramlet Tearing It Up/Springs Still Excused - Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2007/06/casey_bramlet_tearing_it_upspr.html#comments)

JLC also has some nice things to say about him too. Cutting Collins with that salary and at least giving Bramlet a chance sounds good to me.

I have no idea who will be the #3 QB this year. Here's something I am sure of:

If the Skins have to turn to the #3 QB to take 20 snaps for any reason other than they are winning a game by 44 points or more in the 4th quarter and they decide to give the #3 guy a few reps, then the Skins' season will be circling the drain.

C'mon guys haven't u seen Any Given Sunday...I hope we pick up Jamie Foxx as our 3rd string QB. Hey it could happen.

Seriously though, I don't think bramlet or palmer or collins making the team makes that big of a difference one way or another in the grand scheme of things. However, as someone pointed out early it could be beneficial if either palmer or bramlet develops and we can use his trade value to better the team at some other position.

I think that it comes down to who plays better in camp. I believe in letting players in effect make the decision about who is going to make the team, start, etc.

If Collins is here and he plays best, he's third string. In fact, if he plays better than Jason Campbell, I think he should start. I would not expect that, but my point is that I do think that that is the way to make decisions about the lineup. Campbell I expect like everyone else in the world to start, but only because I think he is the best player, not because he is anointed for other reasons.

Let the players play, and play the ones who play the best - not who you think will be the best - who is the best.

Wait....wasn't Atlanta looking for another QB? Lets just ship him off....free of charge. Well maybe we can bring up the topic of a DE or DL and if they don't bite we can simply cut him. Keep the young guys. I only hope Bramlet shows well. I know he looks good over there but it maybe that he understands the system he is in better over there. I know he learned our system this year but he has not been here learning what he has to do like JC has. I think it would have been better to name JC 1st string and train both over the break so they both under stand the offense.

I think collins marriage with saunders is about to disolve, I don't know about the trust, he's never been his starter. He's old and a life time backup, and making to much cash.

I think collins would be the first to go, if mark isn't where they think he should be, it could be him but I doubt it very seriously.

We could bring in casey alot cheaper to carry a clip board.

I could think of alot of better uses of that cash than colllins at #3 QB.

I've followed the Hamburg Sea Devils in particular because of Casey Bramlet. I LOVE this kid. He gets it done in the clutch when he needs too. Anyone see the game yesterday? Awesome finish. Bramlet should be a WALK-ON for #3. Collins should, SHOULD!, go bye bye with Brunell at #2. Palmer on practice squad.

All hail Bramlet.

Yes, I did catch some of the game, and yes this kid looks sharp. I do agree if you're gonna have a guy carrying a clip board, make it a young guy that might have a future in the NFL, for a lot less money than Collins.

It would make no sense to pay Collins, as long as Mark is healthy, which apparently he is throwing well and ahead of schedule. I would bring in Casey as #3 and dump Al's boy.

The throw Bramlet made for the game winning TD was easily a pro-bowl throw. I'm not exaggerating at all either.

The defender was draped ALL OVER the WR. The WR didn't even have a half step on the guy, let alone a full step. Bramlet launched the thing from his own 45 and it dropped over his WR's outside shoulder at the 3 yard line, landing in the ONLY spot where the WR could catch it and the DB couldn't.

When a defender is draped all over a WR like that, there's only one place you can put the ball, and that's in the place where the WR can use his body as a shield. Bramlet managed to do that from 53 yards away, for a game winner.

Now before I get all carried away, it's NFL Europe, and it by no means indicates he's ready to play in the NFL. But I don't care about Todd Collins and his knowledge of the system and experience and all that crap. For the #3 QB spot, we need to keep this kid around. He's got what it takes.

If for no other reason, we've got to find a way to keep him so he doesn't wind up playing for someone else (especially Dallas, NYG, or Philly).
