70Chip 05-30-2007, 04:20 PM Awesome post 70Chip and nice analysis! But, you should have added that Al Gore would keep talking and talking and talking until his interrogators would be forced to shove a soaked rag down his throat. As for Bush, he'd talk, but nothing he would say would make any sense.
With all due respect to Gore and Bush fans, I'm sorry but I cannot believe that our political system pooped out those two guys as the best possible candidates for the most important job in the world.
That's hilarious. Gore would drone on and on. ".. and that was the same year that I was the inspiration for the Ryan O'Neill character in 'Love Story'." Or, "I don't know if you can say I invented Velveeta Cheese, but I certainly played an integral role."
Bush would be trying to pretend he knew something. Making things up. Just like in "Our Man in Havana" by Graham Greene.
I'm going to have you punch up my posts from now on, Sherrif. That's great stuff.

Very sad indeed
12thMan 05-30-2007, 04:45 PM I think Romney has to be in the discussion too, though I'm not sure him being a Mormon would help him in the long run.
No doubt. I think he's a viable candidate. Unfortunately for him, I think the Mormon thing will be a deal breaker for some.

He has the money, the looks, as good of an experience as any governor out there but the whole Mormon thing is going to be a huge drag. Not to mention his flip flopping. I will say this though, the Mormons I know have been upstanding people. The guy who gave me my first real job was Mormon. They do a lot of good things around the world and I do applicate the fact that they go on 2 year missions to places no one else dares to go.
Sammy Baugh Fan 05-30-2007, 09:56 PM I'm not out to change your mind but I found your post pretty funny.
lol
Yea to some it may sound like an oxymoron but history shows that peace comes with overwhelming force.
I pray for "peace". I wished and prayed for peace in your life which is what my salutation infered.
As a Marine I have seen history prove to me as an American that peace comes from overwhelming force that handles that poor bastard trying to take away your peace.
My peace, as yours, is a direct result of America stomping the chit out of people that jack with our peace and freedom.
Joke about it, complain about it but it's a fact.
peace
dblanch66 05-30-2007, 10:00 PM Thanks. I actually went to his web site. Doesn't look like a serious contender, but you never know.
It's cool that you went to his site, 12th.
Most likely not a serious contender which is a shame. He just probably won't have the money to be viable. However, he is very well spoken, un-rehearsed and sharp. He scared Guliani, who in my opinion is a joke. He won't win. There are too many pictures of him in a dress. hee hee hee.

I guess I'm naive but why is it/should it be an issue? For all our world dominance, we sure can be extremely backwards sometimes. Example: We're making a big fuss about a possible female president. All across the world nations have women as their leaders.
jsarno 05-30-2007, 10:58 PM Just curious, but how has this thread not been locked? If someone attacked a democrat, then this would have been closed quickly. But because it's Bush (and apparently politically correct to oppose ANYTHING Bush does) this thread is still allowed to run free?
Either we open up this site for all types of political debate, or none.

Things have been pretty civil, why would you want to lock this?

Beats me, but if I had to guess I would guess that some Christians are more equal than others. Americans backwards, nooo! I would be really surprised if anyone in here can name 5 female who have been or currently are state leaders without looking it up. Hell, make it simple, just name the nations they led/lead.
