Slingin Sammy 33 05-27-2007, 06:18 PM ESPN is having an Outside the Lines covering the dogfighting issue with an informant who will place Michael Vick at dogfights and claims he is a "heavyweight" of digfighting.

dmek25 05-27-2007, 06:46 PM i saw the show, and think Vick must have pissed someone off. i would be surprised is he isn't suspended this season at some point. what a buffoon
skinsfan_nn 05-27-2007, 06:52 PM Yea, I saw it also, he's gettin ready to have a one on one with the Commish! That FOOL is next! I hope they hammer his ass, that Matt Schaub move isn't looking so smart right about now!
Also, that was some brutal dog fighting. ANYONE who finds that entertaining is a COMPLETE 100% PIECE OF SHIT!
Longtimefan 05-27-2007, 09:46 PM This is an ongoing investigation and I'm anxious to see what Poindexter is going to use for evidence to charge Vick. The informant's story sounded convincing, but unless he's willing to tell his story to a grand jury, it's worthless.
GusFrerotte 05-27-2007, 09:57 PM If what the informant says is true, Vick put a lot of money down on these fights also. Tens of thousands from what the article said. Thing is the DA still only has hersay evidence on Vick. Even if this guy testifies, it will still be hard to nail Vick. There has to be more than one person that comes forward to have Vick nailed for this. A few days ago the DA even admitted that he didn't have concrete evidence against Vick. But the plot thickens everyday with this one, so Vick might be toast when all of it comes out. I love how NFL Security offered to help with the investigation. All they would do would be to hinder it to cover their ass. It will be a black mark on the NFL if Vick goes down for this.
skinsfan_nn 05-27-2007, 10:10 PM I'll tell ya one thing Poindexter is dragging he feet, now he has alot of outside pressure to do his JOB. Being Vicks old place is very close to my home, there's TONS of evidence. It's getting these TARDS to tell the truth and Poin to do his damn JOB.
Around here it is very clear someone slipped old Poin some cash, hoping he could make this whole thing just blow over. IT'S NOT! Vicks own so called hoodlum buddies are even turning on him. That everywhere I go people love me shit ain't workin around his home town! Now what that means as far as charges go, anyones guess at this point. When it's all said and done I won't be suprised one bit to see Poin go BYE, BYE.
One thing is for sure this thing isn't going away, as Vick thought it was! Futhermore, the COMMISH can do what he feels is right, he doesn't need any formal charges to lay down a suspension.
saden1 05-27-2007, 10:10 PM People are so quick to judge. Let the law take its course. Vick might well be guilty but I don't think ESPN is exactly the cradle of journalistic integrity. This whole thing really reminds me of the Sean Taylor thing a few years back.
mooby 05-27-2007, 10:22 PM If Vick is guilty of these crimes, then once he goes to prison he'll be in there for a while. And once he gets out his playing days will be long gone. Watching the video of those dogs fighting made me sick. Anyone who enjoys that sort of cruelty to animals needs help.

Articles in the Virginian Pilot have said there are witnesses that will put Vick on the property multiple times, recently, and others that will put him at a local pharmacy purchasing needles and drugs associated with dogfighting. There was also a case mentioned that was prosecuted with primarily circumstancial evidence which resulted in a 4 yr. conviction and the investigator from that case has offered his assistance.
I am pretty concerned that Poin has not moved quicker and I definitely agree with you about the "funny money" to make this disappear. Before this blew up in the national media, comments out of his office indicated there would be no charges filed. Now with the media firestorm he is in a position where he better charge someone or it will be his hind-quarters out to dry. I think that is why he is going to consult with the VA Attorney General's office to make sure they have his back before going forward. At this point (I'm trying to be positive) I hope his office is being thorough so that once charges are filed they will stick, and he won't look like an idiot if those charged (Vick or whomever) walk.
With that said, whether Vick is convicted or not, IMO he was involved in this. While he is never going to be broke, he will at the very least lose a majority of his endorsement $$$. I would love to see him convicted and do jail time.
GusFrerotte 05-27-2007, 11:04 PM Whatever happens, happens. Vick's rep is tarnished regardless. He is not the superstar everyone thought he should be. The Falcons were mediocre with Vick, now they just will plain suck!!!!!
