How far of a stretch would it be for the Skins to host a Super Bowl? I've never been to the stadium before, and don't know the capacity but I think that would be sweet. Someone please enlighten me.
Host the Big Game???hagams 05-22-2007, 03:48 PM How far of a stretch would it be for the Skins to host a Super Bowl? Schneed10 05-22-2007, 03:56 PM Capacity isn't the issue, we have the largest stadium in the NFL. It's the cold weather climate - the NFL sticks to venues in warm-weather areas like San Diego or Miami or domed stadiums like the Metrodome and Superdome. firstdown 05-22-2007, 03:58 PM This comes up about every year. Snyder has pushed for it but I believe the NFL is looking for something in a warmer climate. Would hate for all those corp. sponsors to have and sit out in the snow. MTK 05-22-2007, 03:59 PM Winter in the northeast = no outdoor Super Bowl ArtMonkDrillz 05-22-2007, 04:02 PM The funny thing is that the weather in DC was probably nicer than it was in Jacksonville and even Miami for SB's XXXIV and XLI (XL was in a dome) during the weekend of the game. Redskins8588 05-22-2007, 04:07 PM Would hate for all those corp. sponsors to have and sit out in the snow. I say screw that, football is a cold weather sport, this is what I get down on about the game. The Super Bowl is all about corp. sponsors it is total BS. I agree with moving the site from year to year but if it falls in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, FedEx Field, or anywhere in the northeast then so what, ITS FREAKIN FOOTBALL... mlmpetert 05-22-2007, 04:10 PM Wouldnt it be awsome to see a Superbowl in the freezing cold or snow. ArtMonkDrillz 05-22-2007, 04:14 PM The big D-bags will host the Super Bowl in 2011. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2878922) God, it would be SO awesome to win another one in their building. hagams 05-22-2007, 04:21 PM I think that's wrong on the part of the NFL. If each NFL has to fight each year, they should have a shot at giving thier fans a chance to watch the Super Bowl at home, at least once in thier lifetime. If I could afford a ticket to the game, then I have to pay to fly, stay in Hotels etc. This just might be the only time I've really aggreed with Danny Boy. dmek25 05-22-2007, 04:26 PM i am friends with a guy that works for fox sports. he says dc will never have a super bowl because of TV stands(?) not enough for the amount of TV cameras the super bowl uses. that and the weather thing |
