McNabb/Briggs trade?EARTHQUAKE2689 05-22-2007, 09:22 AM never in life hagams 05-22-2007, 09:25 AM That's not what Farve said....He said if GB didnt' trade for Briggs he was going to retire, and join the International Ping-Pong Leauge. skinsfan_nn 05-22-2007, 09:52 AM This is total non sense. Not this year anyway....McNoNabs is running out of time in puke land PSUSkinsFan21 05-22-2007, 10:01 AM Proof reading is underrated. And now I have an addition to my sig too. SBXVII 05-22-2007, 10:06 AM My sources tell me that all the owners are tired of players not being happy with their contracts they signed and wishing to be traded so all the owners have agreed to pick one player (who should be a first rounder) and put their name in a Bingo style Lottery system. First to be drawn will be the players name. The new team he will be playing for will be drawn second. good luck with you new teams. lol. FRPLG 05-22-2007, 10:07 AM LOL this is insane. Andy Reid wants to have like 10,000 of McNabb's babies, that's how much he loves him. There is no way Reid ever trades McNabb. The Eagles have always drafted players at positions well before a need for their service arises. Except the fact that they have not ever really done anything with McNabb in there. Unless they win an unexpected SB this year then ultimately McNabb is going to go down as a good QB who never had enough of what it took to get a ring. I don't think anyone of consequence in Philly, Reid included, is married to the idea of McNabb running the show much longer. Hell I wouldn't be surprised to see Reid out of there in the next few years. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good coach but in the end they have had SB quality teams, or supposedly so, and only been to one and lost it. At some point they have to decide whether Reid and/or McNabb is the guy to get them a SB. A lot of times teams in the NFL dump good players/coaches in similar situations. They have a good enough front office to build SB quality teams so moving on to a new solution at QB/HC might be the only step to take. MTK 05-22-2007, 10:15 AM I definitely think the writing is on the wall for McNabb. He needs to stay healthy and take the Eagles deep into the playoffs sooner rather than later. The Eagles have shown in the past they have no problem cutting ties with veteran players who they think are overpaid and nearing the end of their career. mredskins 05-22-2007, 10:28 AM From the Eagles Website Writer. It started as a fill-the-space "scenario" in the Sunday sports section in Philadelphia. A reporter named Don McKee, who has not stepped foot in an Eagles locker room in many years, if ever, tossed one against the wall to see if it would stick. The embarrassing part, the evidence that there is too much media and too little going on right now in the sports world, especially in Philadelphia, is that it did stick. And now some are actually, unbelievably of the belief that the idea of trading Donovan McNabb to the Chicago Bears for linebacker Lance Briggs has some teeny, tiny fraction of truth. On the record, it doesn't. Anybody with half a brain knows that. The problem is that we don't live in a world where that much brainpower is used. Hey Don, I have to take a really strong stance here and tell you that no team in the world would trade a quarterback the caliber of McNabb for a linebacker. Nobody. Really, it is a completely foolish suggestion, in my opinion. SBXVII 05-22-2007, 10:28 AM I like Mcnabb. I think he is great in his interviews. Nice persinality. I despise that his mom tried to rain in on his parade(cambel soup) but otherwise I like him alot. but I belive he is washed up now. PSUSkinsFan21 05-22-2007, 10:30 AM I agree with Matty. This is a QB who has not been able to stay healthy and has played in 10 games or less 3 of the last 5 years. When you have a team that is otherwise ready to win during those years, how valuable and irreplaceable is McNabb, really? I understand he plays a different game than many other qbs in the league, but the guy is just, quite simply, too injury prone to hang your franchise on. I think the chances of McNabb getting another contract out of the Eagles is slim to none..........so why not trade him while you can get value? That said, I don't think Briggs is the guy that they pull the trigger on.......but a trade either this year or the next would not shock me. |
