They were talking about this on NFL radio. Solomon Wilcox said he talked to some coaches and they hate the extra day. As a fan, I hate the possibility of it being spread over three days, and I feel like less time between picks may limit the amount of trades that get done.

I heard they were trying to reduce the overall length of the first round because of the possibility of airing it live in primetime, like Friday, or Sat night.

Thank God ! The draft takes way too much time. I mean and hour for the first four picks ? Seriously ? It shouldn't take that f'n long. Get in there and get out.

i agree. the draft takes way to long. if teams want to make trades they'll just have to pull the trigger faster or make trades before the draft.

It's good to hear what you guys think about this. I'm pretty heavily involved in this from the television perspective so it's good to get feedback

I'm not opposed to shortening it, but I think it shouldn't be any longer. I would like it if they moved the first round to Friday and then spread out the rest of the draft over Saturday and Sunday. Either way the coaches have enough time to prepare for the draft so they shouldn't be complaining about a shorter first round.

It does seem a bit long. But MOST teams don't stay on the clock the FULL amount of allotted time, it's not gonna make a huge difference.

Personally I could care less, it's once a year. No biggie either way!

I like the idea of 10 and 5. I think you could go 5 and 2 if you gave each team 2 10 minute "timeouts" to make a trade or argue or whatever. This would also juice up the broadcast by giving commentators something else to criticize.

Salisbury: "Why on Earth would they use their T.O. now? Everyone knows they're going to take..."

While we're on the subject of feedback, I can't tell you how encouraging it is to find out that they think Brunell is still our starting QB up there. Thank God for the Warpath, because if I had to get my Redskins info from ESPN and the Post I would be in big trouble, no offense to you personally.
