I'm glad Sean made that decision, and it further demonstrates why we should sometimes hold off on our initial response to a situation until it plays itself completely out. His decision was the right one, and a good one.
Had we just waited for Favre to make-up and change his mind again, there would not have been a thread about his initial stated desire.

I never understood the fuss. I mean, you can't spell TAYLOR w/o O-T-A.

I never understood the fuss either, and I agree in part with Defensewins when he spoke about the OTA's being voluntary. They can't be a voluntary and mandatory exercise all in one. I do however, understand the desire to have everyone present for the sake of "TEAM" but as someone else stated, this is May, whose going to care come Sept.
I only mentioned Favre because I have witnessed him make statements about retirement before, only to change his mind later. I decided to wait before comment, thinking he just might do the same thing again, and he did.

and scud seem to be the main offenders. 3 months for all.
(of course im just kidding)
I just went back and slogged through the 8 pages of thread and that is about right. When I actually read the posts it seemed like more people were over reacting in the other direction, that is arguing with the decided minority who said it was a major contractual issue. Seemed like most people assumed that others were making a big deal out of the contract concerns and then made a big deal in the other direction (if that makes any sense). In any case, certainly no need for anyone (save perhaps Sally Jenkins) to really renounce their sins publicly.
The most rewarding part of this...........thread, is that when the season starts, we won't have to deal with this type of SH.....................

Correct, but then we get to deal with threads like "Betts should be the starter", "Is it time for Jordan Palmer to see some action?", and "Brandon Lloyd sucks!!1!"...
I can't wait.

Boy, you guys already know how the entire offseason is going to go? Hell, what is the next powerball number?
I guess the anonymous players that said he doesn't like his deal were lying or don't exist.
Wait until Landry gets signed....

Not sure what you're talking about... Gibbs rarely gives the press much of anything to chew on. In this case he simply said he lost contact with Taylor and Springs which was the truth. I don't think the situation was anything of a sensitive nature that shouldn't have been out there in the media.
But it became sensitive in nature because of the way he talked to the press about it and they took it and ran with it.
Gibbs should backed his players and replied, ' It is a voluntary work out and there is no obligation to be at the OTA's. Springs and Taylor made the choice not to be there, end of story.'
But by Gibbs addressing the question and adding that he "lost contact" of two adults that have no obligations to him at this time of year created this whole stupid episode.
When I am on vacation, I have no obligation to drop everything and call my boss back immediately unless it is a work emergency, which this clearly was not an emergency.
