Sounds like JC want to WIN!!!!!!!!!!! Me and a few other posters from the Wash Posts Skins forum were dubbed crazy for wanting to put JC in to begin last season, but if he would have been the starter we would have probably ended up 9-7 and maybe a wildcard. IF this article is on the level, JC is going to be much improved this season and will be hot in '08. One full season in at starter is what he needs. I just hope Llyod can become a viable weapon for JC to throw to and that Randle El improves also. It was too much of the Moss/ Cooley show last season.

I wanted to point out a couple things:

Has anyone seen the parallel between the running backs on the 'Skins and what JC had at Auburn? I mean, one of the knocks on Campbell coming out of college is that he might have benefited from the RB duo he played with there. Well, now he's got that at the pro level and I think it's a good thing. He knows how to operate and flourish in a two back system.

Also, I think JC is the prototype caretaker QB, but in a good way. I think he could excel at doing a lot of things well, taking care of the ball, making some plays with his feet, and distributing the ball and keeping a lot of players interested/happy. Tom Brady is the uber caretaker IMO. I think JC has the potential to really be a distributer/enabler who can put his teammates in position to win games for us. He's not a world beater type, but I think that can play into our hands in a big way if he really does make strides and develop.

On a side note, does anyone actually think someone would come out after a couple of offseason workouts and OTA's and say Campbell looks bad, that he has regressed, and that he is really slacking off? I mean, we really do have to wait and see how this plays out on the field. He was coming into the park 12 hours a week and he is the starting quarterback of the wealthiest franchise in a multi billion dollar industry. I am sorry, but I don't say "Wow, he really is working his tail off" when you tell me he's working a 12 hour week. That's barely part time where I come from (Washington, DC). However, I think it is best that he worked with Saunders and got really caught up before throwing on his own with Santana and whoever else. Now, he is really in a position to get everyone on the same page if they do go ahead with that plan to work out together after mini camp.

With all that said, I think this could be the year that our offense finally turns the corner. While everyone is so concerned about the D, you have to remember that the defense actually has a pedigree of recent success. The offense has been the enigma that we haven't been able to solve for a long time, and I think it's obvious that JC is the reason this thing will turn around if it does. He doesn't have to be superman, he just needs stay poised, manage the offense, and not be predictable enough to gameplan easily. I think he can do that.

During the offseason, especially in March & April, QB's ( and all other positions) don't need to be at the training complex 8 hours a day. Peyton Manning probably has the same schedule. He's on the field for an hour or so working on mechanics and then another three in the classroom, plus he is lifting weights too. So that's plenty of work and I assume it's a little more than 12 hours. He can only do so much. NFL players during the offseason never workout 8 hours a day. If you trained 7-8 hours a day Mon-Fri you would be dead come Sept.

But several guys have said that JC looks much better in his drops and is getting rid of the ball quicker. This is the stuff he most likely works on w/ AS and Lazor during the week. But none of it's going to matter unless he takes in to the field come Sept. I think he will.

I want to to win this year but I am really more concerned that Campbell plays well. He doesn't need to throw for 4000 and 40 TDs but a solid year with smart decisions and some clutch plays here and there should be the real goal of this team. That is the best long term thing we could get out of this year. At the end of it we KNOW JC is our QB now and going foward and he has shown us that he can be the best QB in the division. JC is what excites me and terrifies me about '07.I would argue that we already do know that he's going to be everything we dreamed of any more. Of course, nothing is ever certain until it happens (an injury can still derail Campbells career), but this guy has already shown all the physical, and far more importantly, all the mental tools to be successful. The consistency will come.

He will be the best QB in this division no later than next season, and quite possibly this season. If he can outplay McNabb, we have a shot at being a better team than Philadelphia.

Had we started JC from Week 1, he would have most likely been playing great football at the end of the year, but we wouldn't have won games like Jacksonville and Dallas in the first half of the year. Thinking 9-7 with our defense last year is pretty downright insane. He's not Jesus.

We probably wouldn't have done a lot worse on the whole starting Campbell the whole year but we would have been really pathetic in the first half of last year, and mentally, we aren't sure how that would affect the future of this team.

I'm satisfied with the way our QB situation was handled last year.

I guess so. I keep harping on Brandon Llyod because he did have the worst stats in the NFL for a #2 but he sure made a lot of money and cost a lot of picks. I know a lot of people on the board say that it was the qb who could not get him the ball and that he was getting open and just running the routes that coaches asked him to run. Well this year there are no more excuses for Llyod. Jason Campbell's arm strength from what I saw and lots of other Skins fans saw is pretty darn good. Add to that the offensive line is 4/5 intact and one of the better lines in the NFL with 2 good rushers, a star WR in Moss and a good TE in Cooley - I just don't see if he has another bad year how anyone can still defend him and still think he should be part of the team.I'm not sure why people are defending him after this season, but they are. Never say never--someone will always prove you wrong.

I wouldn't say that I'm a Lloyd defender, but I'm in the camp that thinks he's a lot better than the numbers he put up last year. I went to a couple games last season, and being able to see the entire field rather than what the cameras show you at home gives a different perspective.

I saw Lloyd get decent seperation on several occasions. The problem is he wasn't the first option on most plays. Brunell's reads 90% of the time were first option, then checkdown. Campbell's reads were the same way in his early starts because of inexperience. With Campbell being more comfortable in the offense and having gained some experience, I think B. Lloyd with have a pretty solid season this year.

He's also a very good blocker, which is rare in wide receivers.

But anyway, I'm sticking with Lloyd. Maybe I'll get a Brandon Lloyd jersey and walk in the background of the NFL Live set just to piss GTripp off

i agree with you southpaw, lloyd got very little in the way of first-option looks and should have a better year . .

to me there is nothing more exciting then having a potential franchise quarterback developing right before our eyes. will he be the next peyton, mcnair, mcnabb or just a decent qb like bledsoe, hasselback, plummer????

next year we should have an idea . . go skins!!

I think he is better than the stats show too. But he is going to have to drop the attitude and ball this year. Put up or shut up. I think ARE should be the 2nd wr.
