I strongly disagree with this statement. I honestly don't understand how you can say that. He started in the pro bowl 2 season ago. Have you seen the man play?

Just cause you play in the pro bowl two years ago does not mean you are a true #1 wr. Pro Bowl doesn't mean anything to me. Don't get me wrong. I love Moss. I love his speed, run after the catch and the way he catches the ball. I think he is very very good NFL WR. No question about that. But I would not put him in the same category as:

TO
R.Moss
C. Johnson
M. Harrison
S.Smith
T.Holt

he's not in the same category as chad johnson? and you said he wasn't a good number 1 receiver, that's just bogus.

You know what, if you have TO at the top of that list and he led the NFL in dropped balls, that tells me we're probably using two different measuring sticks.

T.HoltThose are the only No. 1? Elite stuff.

Unless you are taking his performance from 4 years ago (a really long time), Randy Moss doesn't belong anywhere near those other guys. Owens probably doesn't either, but at least hes done something in the last 3 years. Randy Moss' on field play cost the Raiders points over the last two years. I can't stress this point enough. He cost his own team points, and he's on your list of elite receviers. That's wack.

How can you judge any wr's in Oak the last two years? Aaron Brooks, Andrew Walter and an OC that was running a bed and breakfast. That's wack.

Ownes led all WR's last year in TD's w/ missed time and a broken hand. He's a pain in the ass but that SOB produces. Why do you think JJ is paying him the roster bonus? He knows he needs him to win.

Conversely, how can you not take Moss' production into consideration with Brunell throwing to him. Not that Brunell is terrible, but he's not exactly known for throwing the long ball either.

TOs catches and TDs mean nothing to me if he leads the league in drops.

Good point. I personally dont think Santana is the best, nor do I think he is better than R.Moss was in his prime. As of now though? Santana owns this competition. Plus you dont have to deal with all that extra bullshit that comes with Randy.

However, I do feel that Santana needs to validate him this next year to clearly establish he is a elite receiver. Even during the 05 season he was streaky at times. Some amazing games, a couple with low numbers. I guess that applies with many receivers, and that fact that he started getting tripled has something to do with it, but I still feel to be considered one of the BEST he must perform at a very high level consistently, for several years. I think he is almost there, this next season will show.

Randy is still a stud, he had no team around him, no QB, and no hope.
Santana is also a stud, with a young QB and new system.

both are good, i'd rather have santana...but the person who wrote that he'd rather have santana over every reciever save Steve Smith is simply pushing more blind redskins drivel. Please, harrison (old or not), holt, chad johnson, hines ward, anquan boldin, roy williams, these are all guys you've have to consider, with most, i'd argue being better.

That was me with the rose colored glasses.

Can you honestly think of, in the past three years, one, just one, wideout who has singled handedly shut the door on opposing teams at the end of the game like Moss has? I can't.

There are some that are probably more physical, some faster, but none can adjust to the ball mid air and turn nothing into something like Santana Moss. And I'd strongly argue your points about Chad, Marvin, Boldin..(They all have either a Pro Bowl QB or a Pro Bowler opposite them.) Hines Ward? You're kidding, right? Roy Williams, nope. Not a game breaker like Moss. Holt...again, look at the supporting cast there. Either he had a prolific passer or a stud opposite him.

And that leaves me with Mr. Smith. I'll say they both have comparable supporting casts, yet Smith, pound for pound, is slightly better than Moss.
