BEST EXAMPLE OF AN OWNER LEARNING HOW TO OWN: Washington's Dan Snyder refusing to mortgage the future and trade every pick of value in 2008, which is what he'd have had to do to get Calvin Johnson from the Lions. Smart. And LaRon Landry was the top defensive player on Washington's draft board.
And H.B. Blades going in the fifth? The Redskins stole him. Just stole him.

I agree there. I thought Blades was projected waaaaaaaaaay earlier than that.
Blades sounds like he could be another player in the mold of Fletcher, and he'll have the chance to learn from one of the best directly. Gotta like that situation. Plus, how can you hate a LB with the name Blades? That would be a sweet jersey.

I actually like a lot of what we did with the little we had. I was depressed to see all these above average DTs drop to the third and fourth rounds though and we could do nothing to stop it.

Either a Redskins cheerleader give King a handjob or a FedEx vendor hooked him up with free brats because he's actually shown the Skins some love lately.
There is a serious amount of mis-directed.....wierdness running around the WP today.
I personally cannot be pissed off when we snatched up the "Best Defensive player" in the draft. The later rounds have potential as well. As you say MK, how can you not love the name of Blades as a LB. I am confident, the Skin's are looking to find a D-lineman to make a run at before season as well. I have HUGE RESPECT for the Dan to reign in his instincts.
Now.......MIAMI has reason to be P.O.'d. They are crucifying the staff on the airwaves locally as a result!

LOL. I'd probably say that the latter happened......

I guess my boy Khary campbell could be heading out the door if Sartz and Blades make the team. I would have preferred that we addressed our O-line in those late rounds.

i am going to just say what i planned on saying when i saw the thread and before i read it.... F... peter king and all of SI.
I can't post this just this second because "the server is too busy at the moment" so while i wait i will just type. I've been up all night and i am tired. I have classes till 5ish so I'm going to be dead tired. I do have a plan though.... I might just come back and sleep all day and wake up tomorrow morning. That sounds like a plan.
Damn server is still too busy to let me post... I am stunned by what PK said but he is right. We just did what most teams did, we just drafted the best player with our spot in the draft.

Yeah but O-line can't play special teams. Blades and Sartz should be instant performers on Special Teams for us.
I'm happy we snatched up Landry. He is gonna turn heads for us this year. Now if we can gobble up one more lineman after June 1st we should be ready to roll.
Oh, Jason Campbell needs to be steady with only 7 NFL starts under his belt.
