Guys, here is my opinion. For the first time in several year's we have had a pretty boring off-season, and I am glad for it. What makes a team go 10-6 and then 5-11 the next year? One big thing is injuries, .....another is failed experiments like Archeletta. Landry should be an improvement over Arch and if we can keep Smoot, Springs and Rogers on the field and not on the medic's bench we should be fine. We still have Andre Carter rushing the QB and I think guys like Golston will step up and see more minutes. A pass rush is important, but so are turnovers and this team should see more of those on 2007 with the team we will put on the field.

A 'boring offseason' should never include a draft devoid of selections because you've traded them all away.

The boredom should only be the result of a quiet free agency signing period.

I'd like to think so.

As an armchair Dr. Phil, it appears to me that Lloyd has problems that go beyond maturity. My suspicion is bipolarity or borderline personality disorder. Can't someone make him see a therapist?

I'm waiting to see the (sabremetric) numbers on Carlos Rogers' 2006 season before I pass judgment on his future. We all saw the games, but there is a wide range of evaluation on his pass coverage performance. Some think he's a complete bust, others think that he showed a lot of promise last year.

Somebody is right, but I'm really not sure who.

Daseal - I agree with a lot of your qoute but calling Llyod a good reciever I can't go along with. Lloyd had the worst stats among all number 2 WR's in the NFL - 0 td receptions and 23 total receptions for 365 yds is terrible. And to rub salt into the wound the guy has an attitude problem - I can see a lot of WR's that have stats are hard to deal with. But Lloyd has done nothing in Washington and he did nothing in San Fran but piss off his teammates. How can you term him a good WR?

Who did he have throwing him the ball? Nobody in Brunell, and then a green QB in Campbell. It wasen't like he wasen't open, I was actually surprised at his ability to beat CB's deep, but he does need someone to get him the ball, hopefully that will be Campbell this season?

Hate to be negative... But I'm thinking Carlos Rogers is a bust. Like I said in previous post I'll give him 1 more year, but for a first rounder he's a bust so far. Otherwise Smooooot wouldn't be back. What # will Smooooot be?

Smoot is back because in this league you need three solid corners. And we don't want to be one injury away from being totally screwed in this league.

I like what Daseal had to say.

I'll say this from the jump, I've been more critical of Gregg Williams more than any single failure of our defense from '06. Yes, injuries played a role, and personnel too, but I think Williams did a poor job of adjusting and 'hiding' some of those deficiencies. I also lay the Dale Lindsey debacle at his feet. If the guys who are playing linebacker aren't stepping up, and you have young fresh talent waiting in the wings, at the very least, give them the opportunity to fail. Don't just stand pat with the worst defense in the NFL, no turnovers, no pass rush to speak of. Shake things up. We saw no significant playing time from Rocky until the Fat Lady had already sang.

As far as Rogers as goes, I think the critism is certainly warranted there. But to call him a total bust after two years is a bit premature I think. He was often in position, he just couldn't close the deal. I think that's more mental than than anything else. Personally, I think he'll have a chip on his shoulder this year.

All eyes will be on the Skins' secondary with three number one picks. The media will beat that horse to death.

Yeah I'm not jumping on the "Rogers is a bust" bandwagon. If you watched the games, the cushion Williams had him give was un-real. He stepped up and had some really really good games last season. Albeit, he had some horrible games, but who on the defense can you say didn't? Maybe MW, but that would be it.

Everyone on that defense isn't bad.

Rogers wasn't expected to be a pro-bowler yet. He's fine.
