Great move for the Pats. His potential to return to All-Pro form is at least 50/50. He is surrounded by a great organization with lots of character guys. If he doesn't work out what has NE lost, a fourth rounder. What did we do with our fourth rounder for this year.....case closed.
Ah, good point that's a better value than the fourth we gave up for Lloyd

Lets see: The Pats get a reciever that although is considered a head case has some pretty amazing career stats and was considered a elite reciever in Minnesota and the Pats have to give up a 4th rounder to get him.
Meanwhile the Redskins go out and get a wr that is also considered a headcase (at least by former 49ers, but not as much of a headcase as Moss) who does not have great career stats but has "potential" and the Skins have to give up not just a 4th rounder but also a 3rd rounder.
Just think we could have had a chance to grab either a potential guard to replace Dockery or a DE who can actually get pressure on the qb but we are stuck with 0td, 30 some odd receptions a year Brandon Llyod - good job Front Office. Here is my suggestion - stop trading draft picks and get Denver and SF off the speedial button at Redskin Park.

I hope they make it to the play offs and who ever the NFC team is I hope they stomp them.lol. Just to tease Moss. He's only going because he wants to win a SB. He wants a ring.

What a fantastic move. New England for whatever reason can streamline malcontents into their system without incident. Corey Dillon came over and led the league in rushing his first year with the team, while helping them win a superbowl. People forget that there were a lot of questions about this move at the time. As long as they are winning games, and they will be, Moss won't complain.

I think its a huge pickup for NE. I mean a 4th rounder might not even make the team, so to get Randy Moss instead is a huge steal. He'll like in NE because they are a good team and go to the playoffs often. He'll be a top 10 receiver again I bet.

The History of Moss:
Signed Letter of Intent to ND then went to jail. Scholarship negated
Went to FSU, but kicked out after smoking pot
Transfered to Marshall
Drafted by Vikings. Assaults cop and charged with marijuana possession; walks off field at Fedex
Traded to Raiders - admits to smoking pot everyday to Bryant Gumbel; qoted as saying "I play when I want to play"
There is a lot of talent in this kid but anybody who says that simply going to NE is going to straighten him out is naive. Merriweather from the U is a dumb college kid that made mistakes. Who hasn't. Moss is a dumb adult who continues to make mistakes. Time will tell.

I think this is a HUGE pickup for NE. And the fact that the man still runs a 4.29 is unreal.

A 4th rounder is not a bad price to pay, but Moss is not someone who will make the Pats better for very long.
