How much cap money does this save us?
Wynn restructuresjsarno 04-29-2007, 02:55 PM How much cap money does this save us? Skinny Tee 04-29-2007, 03:17 PM wynn is a good guy to have in the locker room, and he has never in his career been a dynamic pass rusher so if ur gonna pull up stats showing a lack of sacks you arent showing anyone anything new. he didnt even start last year so yet again showing last year's stats does little. every team needs depth, and we now have cheaper depth at DE and keep that leadership If we need him in the locker room so bad why don't we just hire him as a DE assistant coach. What do the Redskins need more of on defensive line? Motivation or Sacks...I choose the latter. GMScud 04-29-2007, 03:52 PM "Hey, we need help at DE." "I think the DL will be just fine." What? Sigh... make up your mind Joe. It is so obvious what our most glaring need is, and we just flat out ignore it. I'm sure you'll hear other FO types around the league, under condition of anonymity, ripping us yet again. What are we thinking?? I'm optimistic about every position on our team except this stupid DL. skinsguy 04-29-2007, 04:43 PM Didn't this save us more money than if we had just out right cut Wynn? jsarno 04-29-2007, 04:44 PM "Hey, we need help at DE." I'm optimistic about every position on our team except this stupid DL. You know I am right there with you concerning the DL...but after some of these moves, I really feel they know something we don't. We are creating room to sign someone...so while I am upset that I didn't get the guy we wanted, we very well could get a sud after June 1st to be our DE. We better anyway, otherwise our DL is one of the worst in the league. Rajmahal33 04-29-2007, 04:51 PM I guess we going to keep him around for a little longer which is great. But why the hell did we say we were going to address the D-line via draft. There is no need to mislead ppl for Day 2 picks, they are not exactly in demand. rypper11 04-29-2007, 05:07 PM I agree. As I said in another thread I think a lot of us got too focused on the defensive line and forgot that our secondary was pretty piss poor last year too. Landry will hopefully be what we thought AA was going to be. An in the box safety that will be stout against the run and will also be a serious blitz threat. If Landry can man cover a slot receiver while Smoot and Rogers take the outside and Taylor gets the TE, we can blitz 7. GW will bring pressure every play increasing the TO chances. rvd420 04-29-2007, 05:21 PM wynn is washed up and old.i say cut him, salevea and daniels.we nedd young players. Dirtbag59 04-29-2007, 05:30 PM I find it interesting that in feb. Gibbs said we needed DE help, now he gave the DL a vote of confidence. That doesn't make sense. I love the guy but Gibbs is a liar when it comes to the press. I'm always reminded of a quote between him and Patrick Ramsey when he said something to the effect of "Patrick you and I are going to be together for a long time." BeastsoftheNFCeast 04-29-2007, 09:07 PM can someone please answer why he did this. He lost ALOT of money by doing this. If he got cut he would have gotten almost 2 mil more than accepting the contract restructuring he did. Im thinking there is more to the contract that we dont know about, like with the Brunell contract restructuring how his old contract was still sort of in place. |
