Should we trade next years first for Cory Redding?

Almost as glad as giving up the 3rd and 4th rounder for Brandon Llyod!!!!

the 4th was for Lloyd, the 3rd was for Duckett...and I recall everyone thinking that was a great idea. uuuhuuum.

I hate to sound like this, because there are gems in the later rounds, but I truely doubt we are going to find anyone of value with our 5th+ round picks. How many defensive players are pro bowlers that have been drafted in the 5th round or later? (I am seriously asking)

Well, I guess Antonio Pierce comes to mind (undrafted).

I know this guy is a problems off the field, but if we can get him with our next pick I think we get a steal. What can people tell me about where he's projected to be drafted? Thomas would have been a first rd pick had he not gotten into trouble . He was supposed to be the Gators best defensive player last year . The DE Robison looks like he can be a pass rusher .

I'm not saying Rocky should be kicked off the team or anything, but I think it's safe to say he wasn't worth trading this year's second round pick.

thats a little premature. we dont know what rocky really has yet. hopefully he wont be buried on the bench this season. there is no way to deem him being a bust...yet.

Look, maybe he turns out to be a solid starter.

But not being able to show he was ready for the field until 2006 was practically over, and with the front office reportedly still looking for linebacker depth makes it reasonable to say that he wasn't worth trading up and losing another 2nd round pick. I don't think it's premature at all to say that.

When you give up future draft picks for a guy, he'd better show more than Rocky did. He may not be a bust ... but I'm not holding my breath.

Thomas is still on the board. I doubt he'll drop to the 5th for us, but if he did, would we risk our second pick in the draft on a guy like him? If he couldn't get his act together to play on a team that was headed to the National Championship, what makes us think that, with more money and opportunities, he'll get his act together for a team that may or may not be headed to another high draft pick?

It's risk vs reward. if this guy is there in the 5th round, he's certainly going to be the best player available. With a 5th round pick you also don't have the financial obligation you do with other players. If he's not getting his shit together, kick him to the curb with little to no effect on the cap.
