Landry is known as a better coverage guy and he should create the mismatches Williams envisioned with Archuletta.

Just like someone else pointed out, they have shown more of him stopping the run. From what I've read, he's better at run stopping. If he can stop the pass as well as everyone thinks, then I'll be happy. I just fear another 06.

Don't rule out Fletcher making our defense more stout against the run and commanding it the way Pierce did. I think you are going to see a big time improvement immediately.

I actually REALLY like Fletcher. He is familiar with Williams system, and still has some gas in the tank...but how much gas? He is pretty old.

landy is not a effing run stopping safety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and nether is taylor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we dont need that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we need a run stopping front 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! these safeties will make more plays in coverage than they ever would in pass coverage man......are you kidding me come on man maybe you dont know what we need hence the redskins picked the guy i suggested not your pick you naysayer so give me props donkey and i will commend you in calling out the 6th round pick thing so just admit i am better at knowing talent!!!!We'll have to make that decision later on regarding Anderson Okoye vs Landry. Again you're comparing a four year productive starter (Landry) to a one year wonder (Anderson) and a 19-year old child (Okoye) who didn't play high school football. Rest assured Snyder will bolster the DL and LB corps before long.

Let's not compare Landry to Archuleta. Landry is the real deal. Not only does he rock ballcarriers silly, he's has the football smarts to go with it. And Sean Taylor doesn't get beat often. As a matter of fact, he seemingly had a better season alongside Ryan Clark and Vernon Fox (guys who he trusted to know their own assignment). The greatest thing is that now we have some stability and not a roundabout Stoutmire, Prioleau gig.

Not to sound too negative...but AA was an all pro before being teamed up with Taylor. AA was the real deal. There is a reason why commanded the highest salaried contract for a safety ever. Like I said. I think Landry is one heck of a talent...I think you guys are missing that in my comments...what I am thinking is he won't gel with Taylor.
Clark was nothing special, but his style of play worked perfectly with Taylor. The coaches weren't willing to work with AA to get him to where they needed him, I hope they don't make the same mistake with Landry.

That is my utmost concern...so what do you think the Skins have up their sleeves? I am not confident in our DLine at all right now. In fact, I feel they rank right around the worst in all the league.

I agree they do. Anderson would still be a starter for us, and I beleive Okoye would be too. I'm not saying Landry is a poor player...I just see AA all over again. Picking a run stopping safety when we needed a pass defending safety is not the wisest of things to do IMO. There is obviously nothing I can do about the fact that we picked Landry, except HOPE that we can turn him into what we need...If we can start Golston, we probably would start either of them. Maybe people are enamored by Landry's tackling highlights but he has pass coverage stats too... 12INTs 22PBUs in four years in the SEC.

Nothing up the sleeves. Snyder has money in his pockets.

Like I said...I hope you're right. We need a good pass defender there. If he can fit that bill, then I'm fine.

Problem is, NFL will limit those pockets. We only have 4-5mil in cap space, and now we have to sign a #6 overall pick which will cut into that. We won't have a lot of room to get a good DE. Really, I'm fine with Carter, and fine with Griffin. Golston...not so sure, and Wynn and Daniels NEED to go. So if we can somehow find a solid DE to replace them, I think we'll be fine.

well first of all you dont think we need a safety donkey? come on man thats totally rediculous, you are the same fan who like the redskins but knows nothing about what is really going on in football buddy. and yes you dummy we dont have anthing but a 6th pick (not a 5th pal). but if you look at almost all these traded they include shit from next year....which we have all seven right now, we dont need that many hahah shit i would trade all our picks the following year every year to get better picks in the year of the draft becasue the only time that will only haert you is the final year of the nfl's life....so jsarno please dont question my expertice in this field ya donkey cause you could never match witts with me the effing draft and personnel KING!!!!!!!!

Do most "draft and personnel KINGs" know how to spell "Rediculous?"
