I thought Portis really liked it here in DC but I guess that what they all want us to think until something better comes their way. The trade is impossible from the Redskins' perspective, trading Portis would generate a cap hit we could not absorb. The hit would eat up $8 million in cap space, and we currently only have $4 - $5 million in cap room.

Secondly, the Jets JUST traded for Thomas Jones. We do follow the NFL on this site, right?

This rumor came from Portis being Portis. He was probably effing with the media on purpose. He probably whispered to Vilma beforehand, "Dude check this out, I'm going to send these newspaper types in a tizzy, just play along."
