If we hadn't already picked up London Fletcher, maybe, but still...Portis has more of an impact on our team than a LB could. Vilma is a good one, but there are better out there and we got one without giving up our best player and face of our franchise.

This rumor came from Portis being Portis. He was probably effing with the media on purpose. He probably whispered to Vilma beforehand, "Dude check this out, I'm going to send these newspaper types in a tizzy, just play along."

I honestly hope it happened the way you described, I just won't be surprised if something "shocking" like this happens this weekend.

Dude, the salary cap tells you all you need to know. Portis is untradeable. Completely 100% untradeable. As in it is not fiscally possible.

The only guy that is both fiscally tradeable and is actually worth something is Shawn Springs.

Where did it say that Portis wanted to be traded? According to the rumor, he just told Vilma they would be traded for each other. That doesn't mean he's happy about it, and if they trade him, how is it him bailing on the Redskins? I'd call it Washington bailing on one of their star players, as they so often do.
I was joking and just saying stuff that I see everyday hear when some dumb rumor pops up and no one even knows if its true.

Ahh... my fault. Sarcasm is hard to read in text form.

I would agree it makes NO sense at all. But I've learned many eons ago NEVER say NEVER?

On this Portis and Vilma idea, as one of the residential capologists, I'm comfortable with the phrase NEVER in 2007.

I'm sure CC would give me a hell yeah if he's reading this.

Now, in 2009? Who knows, Portis' contract may be more palatable for trading. Of course that's eons from now in terms of NFL time, who knows what will happen, we may have traded for Reggie Bush by then for all we know (DO NOT START A REGGIE BUSH RUMOR).

I give that a 1% chance of happening...if they traded away their day 1 picks as well as vilma for CP straight up, then maybe.

never in life will that happen

Think we are being a little harsh on CP Here don't ya think. CP has never waiverd about being a redskin. I wonder if Joe "The Game Has Passed Me By" Gibbs is pissed that he's not the fans choice as there faviorate redskin. Thank god we have the best back in the NFL since sanders in Betts waiting to lead us to the goal line and then as we are about to score FUMBLE

I thought Portis really liked it here in DC but I guess that what they all want us to think until something better comes their way. I guess he can go to NY and act like a clown with his stupied cotumes and fit right in. Maybe thats why the skins got the bets deal done because they knew portis would bail on us. Do we even play them this year so Sean can knock the crap out of him. I always thought he was over rated
