Generally speaking a good Dline makes the secondary look amazing, not the other way around.

couldnt have said it any better. although Landry is a great player i dont how much impact he will have on our defense as a whole

Although a good dline makes the secondary better, a good secondary enables you to blitz and makes the defensive line look better, it goes both ways. Remember when we weren't afraid to use Man to Man? How good did the SAME Dline look then?

100% agree.

As demk25 points out, we need a COVER safety. This is why a lot of think Springs should make that switch. I think he'd excel there.

Picking Landry is (like South Park said about John Smith) dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.

I dont think you realize how hard it is to guard a receiver for more than 5-7 seconds. Defenses usually dont blitz secondary much, only a few plays a game. Most of the time it is the Dline that causes turnovers, because they pressure the QB to throw quick. This is commonly accepted NFL fact.

This league is a turnovers league, teams that make the playoffs always are winning the turnovers battle.

You think we could fall two spots and still get Okoye? That's wishful thinking if you ask me.

I still think Minnesota would jump all over him if Okoye is there. There's no doubt in my mind that if we trade down two spots or more, we'll lose out on BOTH Okoye and Landry. Then we'll have to select from the second-tier guys like Carriker, Jarvis Moss, or Jamal Anderson.

This is what the top 10 could shape up as (if I compile all the rumors I've heard, assign each a weighted average, and blah blah blah)

1. Raiders-JaMarcus Russell
2. Falcons (from Lions)-Calvin Johnson (*the Niners could move up to #2 as well)
3. Browns-Brady Quinn
4. Bucs-Gaines Adams
5. Cardinals-Joe Thomas
6. Texans (from Redskins)-Adrian Peterson
7. Vikings-Laron Landry
8. Lions (from Falcons)-Leon Hall
9. Dolphins-Levi Brown
10.Redskins-Amobi Okoye
