Pilfered from Matt Williamson's chat on ESPN today:

Ty (Milwaukee): Will the Packers draft Lynch at 16 or try and move up to 5 or 6 to draft Peterson? Would swapping 1st round picks and sending their 2nd rounder pick, KGB, and a 2008 conditional pick be enough?

Matt Williamson: (12:56 PM ET ) Peterson would obviously be a home run for GBay and they might be able to swing it with Minny. Minny's first for GB's 1, 2 and KGB would probably be plenty and that could actually make both teams better. If they stay put, GB MUST get skill position guys. Olsen would be a logical pick. A guy like Ginn would make a lot of sense, as would Lynch, who could possibly be off the board by then to Buff.

That would be an amazing deal for the Skins if we posed it instead of Minn I doubt that Minnesota and GB would make a trade like that but it wouldn't hurt either team much if we did it with GB..

A pass rusher, plus 2 picks? Are we smart enough to pursue that?

I think that is a pipe dream. GB would be giving up too much.

I would be very happy with that from a personnel standpoint.

But whenever you talk about acquiring a veteran player, you have to ask what the salary cap hit is. I've got no idea what KGB is scheduled to make this season, but chances are we'd be in a cap conundrum since we only have about $4 - $5 million in space right now. Of course, acquiring KGB could mean that Wynn becomes expendable, and we could generate enough savings by cutting him.

All depends on what KGB makes.

Yeah thinking about it from GB's perspective, I don't think that's a move they'd want to make, really. Peterson would be a good get for them, but they're more than one player away.

Why would GB give up all that just to move up to take Peterson?? They would have to be on crack to make that move.

This trade would be phenomenal. In fact, i think it would still be good even if they didn't offer the 3rd rounder. But we may be able to get better come draft day

The trade would be an absolute no brainer for us. In terms of cap, like Schneed pointed out, it could pose a problem, but I'm sure we could dump some dead weight to make room.
We're looking to get an impact defensive lineman player...DE or DL, and getting KGB would mean we have that impact player and get some later round picks...wow what a deal for us. But that would mean GB being amazingly stupid. I just don't see it happening.

The reason would be they're in DIRE need of a RB this year.

Their backfield consists of Vernand Morency, Noah Herron, Arliss Beach, Brandon Miree, and PJ Pope.

LOL, that's really ugly. But I think they're much more likely to see if Marshawn Lynch drops to them.

This does not make sense, from a GB stand point at all. And no, dmek I don't even think they know?
