I think it's horrible that they are airing this stuff, they're giving this guy exactly what he wanted. Can you imagine what the families of the victims are going through having to see this?? Makes me sick.

I just read that some of the victims' friends and family members have pulled out of interviews with NBC because they aired this crap.
Like you said, by showing these rants he is getting exactly what he wanted. He obviously felt like he didn't matter in life, so he wanted to make himself matter/known in death and now that's what has happened.
When is the media going to learn not to support this stuff, and when are we in the general public going to learn not to buy into this shit?!?!

It's like letting Bin Laden have air time after 9/11.

Plus what you see in those images is NOT the kid. He was a punk, quiet, scared pathetic loser. He "acted" tough in that CRAP.

F' Him and those who show his propaganda.
Grrrrrrrrr

The media will learn when the public learns not to bring their attention to this sort of "news". The media knows how to grab viewers, which produce higher ratings, leading to more advertising revenue.

Just like I said in the other thread, what makes this different from the OJ book?

While in all likelihood he was guilty, he was STILL found innocent and the country STILL had an outcry that they didn't want his book to be viewed by the public. Why not this?

I agree with you, Dmek. From what I've read it seems like they didn't have a great relationship (they never visited and he rarely went home on weekends/breaks) but that doesn't mean they caused this.
I heard one report that was later proved wrong that said that they killed themselves shortly after they heard it was their son that did this. Now they're saying that they actually been hospitalized because they in so much shock.

It's a crying shame - a crying shame NBC has allowed their moral compass to go so far off course. What a shameful, shameful organization.

There is no way in hell NBC can justify airing this in the wake of such a horrible, horrible thing. I don't want to hear any released statement from PR how they thought long and hard about releasing this video. When in doubt on an issue like this, don't do it! Your better judgement should take over!

But these are the very people running our corporations in America. These are the very people are kids are preparing themselves to go work for?

The irony in all this is the very people our kids are preparing themselves to work for, are turning out to be the very ones who still haven't learned a very basic tenet of life; "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you!" Which one of the NBC execs would think twice about airing that video had it been one of his/her children or nephew or niece!!

In their attempt to further crucify the kid who committed these horrible murders and publicize his insanity, they've only deepened the wounds and hurt of those who are and will be mourning for years.

What has happened to us?

Honestly, I was relating this to the OJ Book earlier, but now that I think about it, we KNEW about the OJ book. NBC was basically just like, "Well, we have materials... HERE THEY ARE! WATCH!"
