The Perfect Scenario that might actually HappenSKINSnCANES 04-18-2007, 02:50 PM your scenerio is very likely, tampa is defintly considering peterson. gruden wants a two back system if he cant have johnson. EARTHQUAKE2689 04-18-2007, 05:10 PM With the draft fast approaching allow me to outline the best senario that might actually happen for the skins. First, I must point out the fact that any reasonable fan understands that we need Dline help. Though Landry is an excellent player, drafting him and ignoring the dline would be one of the dumbest moves in the history of redskins football. 1. Oakland drafts Calvin Johnson In order for this to happen the dolphins must cut culpepper and the raiders would then sign him. 2. Detroit drafts Gaines Adams. Adams would be the best player to drop to the skins but that simply is not gonna happen. Maranelli being a Tampa 2 guy values pass rushers more than any other position. 3. Browns draft Jamarcus Russell. The fact that Bronws GM Savage has known Russell since high school gives him the edge over Quinn. 4. Bucs- draft Adrian Petterson. This is by far the most unlikely pick in my senario because the bucs really don't need a RB. The possiblity exists that some team will trade to this spot to get Petterson. 5. Cardinals draft Joe Thomas. New coach Wisenhunt and Russ Grimm know you build offense with a QB and offensive line. Thomas is the best guy to protect Matt leinart blind side for the next 10 years. 6. Skins - A biding war begins for the services of Brady Quinn between the Vikings and Dolphins. Both teams offer to swope first round picks and their second round pick. The skins take the deal with the vikings because this keeps them in front of Atlanta who will draft Okoye if he's still on the board. "With the 7th pick in the 2007 NFL draft the Washington Redskins select Amobi Okoye." Okoye is gonna be a special player. He has the rare ability to rush the passer and collapse the pocket. He will help in both run support and the pass rush. He reminds a lot of Warren Sapp, with his unique combination of quickness and power. Furthermore, he's a character guy who is only gonna get sooo much better. "With the 41st pick the Washington Redskins Select Anthony Spencer or Ben Grubbs." Depending on who is still on the board. Spencer is gonna surprise people in the NFL. He's been written off because he doesn't have the measurables. But that is all crap. This guy is an exceptionaly instictive player. THe guy had 93 tackles as a defensive end. That is remarkable for a player at that postion. Furthermore, he has great quickness as evidence from his 26.5 tackles for a loss. I'm gonna come out on a limb here and say he will be better than any other DE from this years class with the exception of Gaines Adams. A steal in the second round if he falls that far. if that really happened i would love it EARTHQUAKE2689 04-18-2007, 05:16 PM If the Dolphins release Culpepper it is because they were able to acquire Trent Green. Why do they need to get into a bidding war with the Vikings then? I don't see why the Vikings would need to trade up with us to land Quinn. They know we aren't going to take him. well put EARTHQUAKE2689 04-18-2007, 05:17 PM Emmit Smith Syndrome bsacially but what else is new we made troy hambrick look great offiss 04-18-2007, 05:27 PM well put Not that I believe any of this would happen but, the Viks would move up to keep us from moving down with the dolphins, that is why they would give up a pick to move up. They know that if we trade down with the fins they lose out on Quinn. skins009 04-18-2007, 06:03 PM If the Dolphins release Culpepper it is because they were able to acquire Trent Green. Why do they need to get into a bidding war with the Vikings then? I don't see why the Vikings would need to trade up with us to land Quinn. They know we aren't going to take him. Because Trent Green is 39 years old and is only good for 1 or 2 years. Green's true value is giving Quinn the oppurtunity to sit one year and to mentor Quinn. Furthermore, It gives the dolphins another year to improve their O-line which is terrible right now. TenandSix:Unacceptable 04-18-2007, 07:23 PM I agree that Okoye and a second rounder is the ideal situation for us. That would give us a real shot in the arm. I maintain my LL boosterism though, and will be stoked if we pick him up as well. It would be equally as cool if we could get LL and a second, now that I think of it. Ultimately I'll be stoked if we can add either to the fold. LL on pure talent and playmaking, Okoye on upside and addressing age and talent issues on the DL. Plus, you have to love overachievers with winning attitudes. redskins159 04-19-2007, 10:48 AM I do not think it is out of the question for the bucs to draft peterson. Cadillac had a very mediocre softmore affair, I think he only averaged about 3.5 per carry. He was not the impressive rookie he was a couple of years ago. Most of the dominant teams in the NFL have not one but two great backs. The bucs need many things but a RB is not out of the question. If we can use Quinn to trade down we have to do it. It doesnt really matter who we pick if we get an additional second pick just as long as we get one. I think one possibility is that reggie nelson falls to the second round which would be a steal for the skins. We would then take Okoye or Branch in the 1st round. SmootSmack 04-19-2007, 10:50 AM The Vikings might be targeting Peterson as well EARTHQUAKE2689 04-19-2007, 11:04 AM Because Trent Green is 39 years old and is only good for 1 or 2 years. Green's true value is giving Quinn the oppurtunity to sit one year and to mentor Quinn.
