5 Questions for Redskins Alumni Ted Lapka?

As a follow up to my post below about the interaction with Mr Ted Lapka and to write him back it got me thinking. This is a golden opportunity to get a 1st hand account in an Oral and Written History of the Redskins in 1943, 1944 and again in 1946. Also the historic and personal impact of leaving the NFL to serve and return from WWII.

So help me with 5 good questions to start with in a letter to him I am writing. I don't want to only ask him about Sammy Baugh. He was around the 1945 Championship team and played in the 72-0 Bears over Skins blowout and much more. Remember these guys were 60 minute players so he played End on all plays during a game.

Could you guys post some good questions and I will use about 5 of ours to start. In the letter I will ask permission to call and record some Oral Histories too.

Thanks guys
peace
mike

Great idea SBF. I guess the first question I'd have is if he still follows football (particularly the Redskins) and if he's still proud-based on recent years for the team-to be associated with the franchise

Good one bro.

Yeah, I can see where this might go. I think Bullet Bill Dudley lives just 30 miles south of me in Fredericksburg. I might write him next. I wonder how many players from before the 1950's are still around? Hmmm?

Keep the questions coming!

does he have any contact with anyone involved with the NFL as far as working on increasing their pensions?

Wouldn't it be cool to do something for the old guys that built our team and get Dan and the new Team to pay for it.

How cool would it be to say our Skins Alumni are the best taken care of thanks the thewarpath.net and fans? Anwser: Very

peace
