Big C 04-13-2007, 02:54 PM NFL Draft Countdown - 2007 NFL Mock Draft (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html)
has anderson taken at 21 and us taking carriker at 6, strangest draft ive seen. okoye at 4, russel at 3
GTripp0012 04-13-2007, 03:29 PM Carriker, and I want to be careful about saying better fit for our system, would be exactly what we are looking for on the DL.
We don't really know what Andre Carter's value is just yet. Consider him an X factor if you will.
So we don't want to draft his replacement just yet. It's too early to do so. So stay away from the smaller prospect who are only good at rushing the passer.
What we do know with absolute certainty is that we need youth at the LE position, currently being played by Daniels and Wynn, and the DT position, where Saleve'a's contract runs out and Griffin may become an again cap casulty in the near future.
So we want either Okoye or Carriker because we KNOW that we will have an opening for them in the near future. Two years from now, the best course of action may very well be to draft the best pass rushing DE as early as possible to replace good-for-nothing Carter. It's just too early to pick for a need that we don't know we have yet.
redskins5044 04-13-2007, 04:00 PM if the draft plays out like the mock draft posted above. we might be able to trade down to a team wanting peterson. maybe the Bills or Packers they need an upgrade at RB
davelavarra 04-13-2007, 05:04 PM Carriker has a lot of potential, but is he really worth n.6 overall? We should trade down a bit.
skinsfan_nn 04-13-2007, 05:24 PM Carriker is not worth a # 6, in the first round.
GTripp0012 04-13-2007, 06:30 PM Carriker is not worth a # 6, in the first round. They said Campbell wasn't a first rounder and he's going to end up being the best QB in this division by 2008.
Unless he gets hurt, then I'm just getting ahead of myself.
Big C 04-13-2007, 06:59 PM assuming we cant trade out of #6...
would u rather take a guy who might have more potential than carriker but doesnt fit our system? or would u rather reach for carriker, who fits our system. carriker, branch, and okoye would be the 3 best fits imo, followed by anderson.

I dont think okoye fits in our system very well. I think that Griffin is the pass rusher and we need a run stuffer, and at 295, Okoye is not that guy. He is very good at what he does, but as long as we have Griffin as our pass rushing dt, i dont think okoye will be a good fit to complement him.
SmootSmack 04-13-2007, 08:00 PM Jarvis Moss, Justin Harrell, Justin Blalock, and CJ Gaddis. Can we make that work :)
