Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm ESTjbcjr14 04-11-2007, 10:09 AM ESPN.com - NFL - NFL ready to announce regular-season schedule (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2832754) Redskin Rich 04-11-2007, 10:13 AM About time... once that comes out we can stop these stupid threads about first carry, last carry etc (yes, I even started one... but what ya gonna do without the season). MTK 04-11-2007, 10:25 AM Finally some real news to chew on. They really need to move the draft up to the middle or beginning of April. The draft still seems painfully far away. :( freddyg12 04-11-2007, 10:34 AM Now I'm waiting for prediction threads on when we'll play each team. Figure this year we'll have Dallas at home the first time around & Tex Stadium the 2nd. For the past 2 years we've had the advantage (IMO) of having them at home later in the season. SmootSmack 04-11-2007, 10:43 AM We will probably have an NFL Draft Special on ESPN from 1-3p today. Not official yet. JoeRedskin 04-11-2007, 11:21 AM Finally some real news to chew on. They really need to move the draft up to the middle or beginning of April. The draft still seems painfully far away. :( At least the draft is still upcoming and there is some hope for news that isn't three times chewed over - In June/July we will be discussing lawn care at the practice fields. Monkeydad 04-11-2007, 11:21 AM Now I'm waiting for prediction threads on when we'll play each team. Good. I've been wondering how you guys will think we'll play during the second quarter of our 5th home game. Beer is Food 04-11-2007, 11:34 AM As far as schedule difficulty goes, I think the NFL should factor in how many games each team has to play opponents following a teams bye-week. I think a team comming off a bye-week has a distinct advantage because the team has chance to recooperate from injuries and has more time to prepare. Last year, the Redskins played 4 teams comming off a bye and lost every game. We played both the Giants and Philly after their Bye. Granted, the Redskins lost many games so who knows if they had anything to do with it. With that said the Giants only played 1 team comming off a Bye. (Beat Altlanta). Philly played NO teams comming of a bye. And, Dallas played 3 teams- Houston, AZ, and the skins(2&1- we beat them). I'll be interested to see how many teams we play following their Bye-week. Last year, we played 4 teams following their bye. And an additional two teams preceding their bye-week. I think this an unfair disadvantage, and Bye-weeks should be factored in for strength of schedule. Am I on to something here? Or does Bye-week scheduling present little to no advantage? MTK 04-11-2007, 11:46 AM With every other consideration that goes into drawing up the schedule I think it's just too hard to also factor in playing teams coming off byes. I think it's just one of those necessary evils. redskinsfanatic 04-11-2007, 11:52 AM i hope the giants have to play the week after playing miami in england. |
